University of Maryland-College Park Fall 2017 Transfer Discussion

that’s not fair at all…is it because a lot of people applied this year??

are you kidding me?? i hope that’s just an estimate because we’ve already waited long enough. they never seemed to be that late from past threads

This is very unfair, and I’m praying that it’s not true.

In 2016, people were notified by April 13th. In 2015, people were notified by April 14th. In 2014, people were notified by April 16th. In 2013, people were notified as early as April 8th! Notice a trend here? In the 2013 transfer thread, pay attention to the guy who said the admission representative will let them know by the end of the week. They got notified the same day. So I wouldn’t pay attention to admissions. Heck, we could hear tomorrow!

Here is the link to the 2013 thread, and the page I was referring to:

@DragonFire16 Hahaha doing the research I see. I’d love to hear tomorrow but I’m cautious. This kind of makes me wish they had a set-in-stone date to release decisions. Even if it meant waiting a few extra days, it’d at least be a sure bet.
In the past, the housing contract showing up early happened the same day admissions decisions were released, right?

@CasimirPulaski1 If only they had a set date. Another reason they could delay this year is because of Easter Friday. Still at the most I would expect early next week. And yes, housing contract showed up same day admissions decisions were released

@CasimirPulaski1 The housing contracts have showed up for people as early as 6AM on decision day. All the housing contracts don’t show up at the same time, they seem to be on a rolling basis throughout the whole day up until decisions are all released at the same time. So, if decision day is tomorrow, housing contracts will begin to show up and we can expect a decision at 4:45PM right before admissions closes. If no one at all gets the housing contract tomorrow it’s probably safe to assume tomorrow isn’t decision day.

@bbe267
That’s nifty! Alright I think it’s time for me to get off of here until decisions are posted, can’t get too emotionally involved haha

@CasimirPulaski1 Oh I know I need to stop checking back on here some of you have almost given me a heart attack

I know it’s kinda late, but do you think admissions will consider the amount of W’s you had or one semester of bad grades? I’ve gotten 4 W’s during my spring 2016 semester due to being really sick, but after that I started going back to school and getting A’s.

@bbe267 @CasimirPulaski1 np i came to admission office on Jan and they said 3.5 GPA will guarentee u to cs in coe. shocked me first.

for me they pulled all my old records even I registered a new account. seems like DOB+name match

has anyone else not completed a college level math and/or english course and will this greatly effect my admission

Hello! I personally have completed the college english / in the process of completing the math credit. I think they may prioritize those who have completed them but I am not entirely sure. Just the fact that they made a point to say that makes me think that way

Has anyone got the housing glitch today?

@drjisper How did you get them to pull up your old records? UMD admissions replied back to me and did say my high school transcript is needed (it doesn’t reflect in the application itself anymore) and that I’d be pushed to regular decision instead. Ugh, I was planning to get the decision for priority as early as possible, any later than that is messing with my plans

Starting to think today isn’t decision day. I feel like somebody would have reported a housing glitch by now.

@petraglia86 Yep. I’d conjecture that if we’re getting any decision this week, it’ll be on Friday.

what are everyones stats? i dont think i even have a chance at getting in
