I am a freshmen at UT Austin too. just change of majors coz Maryland is ranked higher in that and well, change of location coz Ive lived in Texad long enough. Want to explore more places.
I got into CompSci with a 2.84 gpa with 64 hours.
I applied to compsci from George mason 3.95 gpa have the English credit currently finishing up calc 1 this semester hopefully the reason I didn’t get my decision isn’t because I got denied I’m actually freaking out right now
@yankeebanger Yeah I attended UT Austin my freshmen year, and I moved to Virginia due to my parents finding new jobs, and I couldn’t financially support myself at UT. UT is a great school don’t get me wrong, but to me a lot of state colleges are pretty similar and comparable when it comes to academics. I see Maryland and UT as almost equals to be honest.
@KlausMikaelson Good luck with your move to Maryland if you decide to go, and I totally understand where you’re coming from. I would like to get out there in the world and explore and not be confined to a college campus bubble. Currently I’m also looking at schools at UCLA, USC, and Ohio State as well. Just to broaden my horizon and see new things.
@cttieu Ohio state and Maryland were my top two choices. I got my accpetance to ohio state back in February, was just waiting for UMD to release theirs but now I think, i’ll be heading to UMD if nt OhioState.
@umdtransffffer I haven’t heard anything back either. very stressed. someone told me they are doing it alphabetically and my last name starts with a W
im so nervous i wont be able to sleep until i get it. i applied before thw priority deadline and my
last name starts with C but i haven’t gotten anything :((((
I doubt it goes alphabetically. I received my acceptance letter at the same time as everybody else, and my last name starts with S.

Yep turns out If you didn’t get a decision you have something missing I had one class I took at community college during highschool and my credits appear on my George mason transcript so I thought I didn’t need my nova cc transcript but here I am now having to wait till July because of 3 credits

If you still have not received a decision, call the admissions office to figure out why. They will look over your application and tell you if something is missing or was not received on time. If there are no problems with your application and the admissions office just messed up, like in my case, they should tell you that your decision should be out in a couple of days once they review your application. If there is a problem with your application then they will push back your decision to the later deadline in July.
