University of Maryland Honors College

DC was accepted into University of Maryland Honor College and now they want him to choose which Living and Learning Program he would like to join. They asked him to rank all seven. Does this mean that some of them are competitive or is it first come first serve kind of thing? He really has no interest in some of them- to the point that he would not accept it, he is meh with some of them and has one very strong first choice.

They just want to know what you’re most interested in. Rank your top 3, and give a brief reason for your top 3. Then rank the next 4. Don’t need a reason for the last 4. I would imagine the sooner the better, as they will fill up. The deadline is 2/17, but do it now. I did it almost as soon as I was accepted. Hope this helps.

+1 with Byrdie12.

My D was accepted to Honors College and submitted her Living and Learning Preference (university honors as first choice),. But now we are confused b/c she just got an email that she hasn’t submitted her College Park Scholars Preference Form. Do both forms need to be submitted? I thought they are two separate programs and you are either in Honors College or Scholars. Anyone else have this issue?

My son put in his Living Learning preferences a week ago and then got an email yesterday saying to submit his preferences. We’re hoping it was a mass email to everyone, but it didn’t say anything like “if you’ve already submitted your preferences ignore this.”

@14wjs14 D received the same email and she submitted her preferences the same day she received her package. So I bet it went to everyone.

I received this email as well, and emailed David Turner (I believe that’s his name) and told him that I have submitted my preferences twice due to reminder emails I have received. He confirmed that he has my preferences and apologized for the confusion.

OP here, DC was accepted to the Living and Learning Center of his choice.
