University of Maryland SAT scores

I just sent my SAT scores to the University of Maryland. I took the October 3rd SAT, so I sent them on the first day available. Will UMD receive my scores by their November 1st deadline? I’m sure many other people also sent these scores to them. I’m freaking out a little that they won’t get them. It’s too late for me to rush the order.

I sent SAT scores for my son on Oct 19th and they HAVE NOT SENT THEM yet…We called college board and they said it can take up to 14 days (weekend not included) to get the scores out… so they allowed me to add the rush to the order that was placed on Oct19. So if I were you I’d call college board TODAY and tell them your scores haven’t been sent yet and you need them there by Nov 1st and they will let you pay an extra 31$ to rush that score. UMD said it can take UMD 2 days to get your scores processed. All of our other scores to colleges have only taken 3 days max for college board to get out. This is totally unacceptable that college board is milking it like this and I’m sure its to get more $$$

Thank you very much for that information! I just called college board and got the rush order taken care of.

You might want to check your college board account. I rushed my daughter’s scores on 10/22 and they still read pending. I called college board yesterday and today and was told they have moved to a new system and will not be sending rushed scores until Friday  I am planning to call UMD in the morning to see how long it takes to process them.

I ordered my son’s scores on September 11. The College Board site shows they were sent to UMD that day. But his application status shows they have not been received. I’m assuming they are just not matched but I am going to call tomorrow.

As a follow up to my post, I called admissions and they could not find the scores until I said to try his nickname, not his full first name. Then they found the scores. Kind of surprising since other schools have not had a problem. But they were very courteous and helpful.

Its matched up by computer software I think, Im surprised you haven’t had that problem before… I have a son there who’s first name is Francis and he goes by Frank well he had to have everything on his UMD account read Francis bc social security# has to match name …so your son might have to only go by his real name for college. My son LOVES UMD!!!

BTW all rush scores have been sent to UMD! We checked and here is CB email
Dear Student,
Please be aware that rush-ordered SAT® score reports have been delivered to almost all colleges. We are resolving technical issues with a few institutions and are working to ensure that we deliver scores to them within a timeframe that will allow them to use those scores for early action/early decision applications. These colleges understand the circumstances and are working with us to resolve the issue on behalf of students.
The best way to determine if your scores have been received is to review the status of your score sends in your College Board online account. The website is currently updating this information. Your updated score send status will be fully reflected by 7 a.m. EDT, Oct. 31, 2015.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

I sent another order (rush this time) today, Fri Oct 30, 9:44pm. My other order was regular and that was sent on Thurs the 29th. (I’m applying priority) Does anyone know how good of a chance I will be considered for priority?

I sent regular scores on October 25th, called and had them changed to rushed on October 28th, been calling them everyday up until today to check the status. @stoopidfoose , I called today and they told me that mine had been sent today, which means yours has most likely been sent too (although I did call them around 5:00 ct).

If yall want to check the status your best bet is to call CB… when I called to check my status they told me that CB hadn’t had the time to change “pending” to “sent” on many student accounts, so what you are reading may not be the actual status.

One of my friends said he called College Park yesterday (Fri Oct 30) and they told him that as long as the scores were received by Nov 3 you would be considered for priority. Can anyone confirm this?

Anyone “confirming” here is going to be no more reliable than your friend. The only reliable source is the school itself, so you should call them yourself for firsthand info.

UMD told us that as long as you can prove you sent them through CB before Nov 1 you would be ok. So save your email receipts from CB saying when you sent scores!! an contact UMD with any questions. They were very nice about not wanting to penalize students…
