(University of Massachusetts, Amherst) University of Pitt which is better

Assume getting in is not a problem. Also, IGNORE costs. I am also looking to become a business major.

Pittsburgh is ranked a little higher for business by US News if that would be a factor for you.

I think they’re about equal. The big difference would be between living in a college town with the 5 college consortium -(so you get to take classes at elite or unique colleges) or living in a big city.

Well, 39th (Pitt) vs. 50th (Mass), but, yes, I would agree with “about equal.”

The students i know of who are looking for business internships seem to have an easier time finding them & an easier time with the logistics (travel, & accomodations if not during the school year) if their school is near a lot of businesses. Pittsburgh would seem to be much better in this regard than UMass.

Pittsburgh (4.5 stars) is a better school for sure than UMass (4 stars). You’d have an easier time with internships and such at Pittsburgh.

Odd…my kid is also looking at these 2 schools in relation to Business. One thing I’d note is the extraordinary events going on in Pittsburgh around driverless cars…here’s a piece from yesterday’s Times http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/11/technology/no-driver-bring-it-on-how-pittsburgh-became-ubers-testing-ground.html This will surely help with driving innovative business to the city.

Pitt. UMass is not as good of a program or school.

I’d personally choose UPitt, but they’re both good publics. I wouldn’t ignore costs personally I wouldn’t pay an extra price difference.
