<p>i told my mom that i wanted to go to the University of Miami b/c of their great engineering program, but my mom doesn't want me to go b/c she said Miami is a party school.

<p>i agree it that students party...but its not a university of colorado or anything. students may party more than ivy league schools (duh), but i think its the fact that its in miami that gives it the bad (or good) rep.</p>
<p>I was told that Miami was full of rich, party kids. From the kids I know that goe there (only four) that description is true. </p>

<p>Depends on what you consider a party school. Can you party there? Yes, of course. Do you have to party there? No, of course not. Marjie as the parent of a UMiami student I can understand your Mom's concern's. I had, notice the word had, those same concerns. If she has questions please have her contact one of us parents.
