Hello all!
Did anyone else come down to Miami-Frost and Ithaca, or look carefully at both? We are down to the wire and as I said in another thread, my nerves are shot. One of them has an advantage in that my D attended their summer program.

My D's biggest concern is performance opportunities (school-run or student-run). Both have small graduate programs, but she'd compete with more grad vocal students at Frost. However, Frost double cast its recent mainstage, Jackie O, so that undergrad students had 2 performances and grad students had 2 performances. Waiting to hear if that extends to other performance opps. Also looking for student run MT/Vocal organizations that put up shows.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide

VoiceAcademicMom, Feel free to pm me with questions about Ithaca. Have S in 2nd year there but for instrumental and comp. not vocal and we live in area and have been involved with IC music program on several levels for a while. I can tell you there is a student run group that puts on own productions in affiliation with Cornell. I have a friend whose D has actively participated in these. There are also sometimes other student run productions that spring up from time to time. There was just a very big Disney production run and directed by a student that a lot of vocal majors participated in. Vocal program very strong at IC. My S picked this school over bigger and better known institution because he felt he would have more chances to play and have his music played there and that has been true. (I know composers are often looking for singers for their premieres.)
