I am a transfer student and going into my sophomore year. I can not decide between University of Miami or Rollins, I have been going back and fourth about which school to choose… Originally I was leaning towards umiami because I have heard that it is a better school and has a decent advertising program. But I felt overwhelmed by the size and felt like a number(umami is about 16,000/17,000 grad and undergrad). I have the choice of going to Rollins which would be a much more nurturing environment as it only has about about 2,000 student but at the same time it could just feel like high school and i have heard that it is not considered to be as good of a school. I am really torn between the decision and would like some insight on the two schools and what could be more beneficial for my future.
My D is a freshman this year at Rollins. From what I have seen and heard so far, Rollins is a very nurturing environment as one would expect from a LAC. Class sizes are small and professors know your name in all of your classes. Miami is also a great uni. Larger class sizes at Miami and more majors among which to choose. My D wanted the small LAC experience, which she will get a Rollins.

I am just considered with it feeling like high school, but that being said I went to a high school where there was 30 other girls in my grade and it was kind of catty so is the environment like that at all at Rollins? Miami is ranked higher but the size just feels overwhelming.
