Could I get into the University of Miami with a 3.4 unweighted GPA and a 4.306 weighted GPA? I am still a junior so my GPAs could still fluctuate, which could either be good or bad. What is the minimum GPA I could most likely get in with? How can I increase my odds across all fields to get into UM? Thanks!
p.s I mean the one in Miami,Florida NOT Miami University in Oxford,Ohio
Yes…you will need “good” SAT/ACT scores. It’s an expensive school, though. Will run you about $60K/yr. One of my kids went there and thoroughly enjoyed all 4-years!
In terms of grades Bs are solid but try to really go the extra mile for your last Junior semester and first Senior
semester to hopefully maybe get a few As in a couple classes. Miami, although it’s not super competitive, is fairly competitive and will only become more competitive as each year the applicant pool expands tremendously. With your GPA Miami would be a reach school however you can compensate this with a very good ACT or SAT (shoot for a 31+ or a 2100+). You can also bring up your GPA if you really work hard the next two semesters.
Good Luck!
