University of Michigan 2023 waitlisted applicants

My “view decision” tab dissappeared this morning

I’m just realizing that those all disappeared weeks ago^^

What time should anything be expected?

My absolute guess is from 3-5:00 eastern time. Then again, it might not happen today… ?

So I got an email back from my regional counselor this morning at 9.30 AM after sending a LOCI a week ago. The email said:

Since we do not typically admit students from the waitlist until late June, I encourage you to make enrollment plans at another college or university in case space does not become available in our incoming class. Please keep in mind that if we do not have space to admit you this year as a freshman, we will welcome your application in the future as a transfer applicant. More information about transferring to the University of Michigan can be found online. I wish you all the best in your future educational endeavors.

The problem for me is I committed to UIUC, and the final day to cancel the housing contract is June 15th. After that day, I need to pay 70% of the entire housing fee in order to cancel the contract. What should I do when that happens? Do you guys have similar issues?

You can apply to PCH. Their deposits are much lower.

I have a similar issue. I have to pay the deposit for housing and the deadline for my school is June 7th. I’m not sure what I should do now.

i applied as a transfer and i just wanna say that my counselor was amazing with help & got back to me right away !! you guys were good enough to get on the waitlist so i wouldnt give up if you dont get accepted for the fall

@rexzhou lol I did apply to PCH.

Sorry my phones going crazy. ?

Are you going Crazy OR are your phones going Crazy??

I am wondering of anyone got anything cause last year it was May 24th and with Memorial Day weekend and everything everyone is predicting today at 5 pm… just wondering. I just checked and teh “View decision” is still not there… Wondering if that is the case of anyone else?

@pennswood - it’s the same for my daughter

May 24 is just a guess. Mid June is their official date…

U of M’s waiting game vs. $15,000+ in academic scholarships to its rival school? See ya, maize and blue. Been nice being jerked around by you.

So, is it better to wait for mid June?

@adharma I don’t know… I’m going to orientation at my other school next weekend and I’m picking my class schedule, ugh.

There are a couple of things that may be fundamentally different this year.

First, the NYTimes says that the research on the College Board’s new Adversity Index was done at Michigan and Harvard. It’s very possible that Michigan is also one of the schools that was a beta site for use of the Index this year. Second, perhaps due to the Nassar scandal, deposits at Michigan State as of May 1 were down 5% from last year. That has possible implications for UM’s in-state numbers and forecasts.

Either or both of these factors could complicate (and slow down) various admissions predictions and decisions.

“U of M’s waiting game vs. $15,000+ in academic scholarships to its rival school?”

Congrats! You got an academic scholarship to UCB, UCLA, UVA, or UNC. Very impressive!

Anyone else missing the view decision tab still? Does no decision tab mean good news?
I think I’d be strange for them to release a decision today. Is it always a Friday?
