University of Michigan Ann Arbor Class of 2022 Early Action

@mikeesik28 My son was accepted to LSA in mid December and is still waiting on Ross. There is at least one other person on these threads who is in the same situation.Cross fingers and check at 5pm today!

I am in that Ross waiting game too for my son- not feeling optomistic at this point. He was accepted EA in December, seems to long for an acceptance and havent heard of any rejections being sent yet.

@holdingouthope Yes, Ross per GC should release today after 5pm and Ross admits into mid April. Also saw on last years blog someone who was accepted in December EA but did not get into Ross until 4/14. In the same boat as you accepted December and waiting on Ross as well.

Hi everyone - Just wondering how those who have been accepted in the first wave got their news? Email? Or just check the portal? Thanks.

Do we think there will be a wave today at 3 pm EST?

@Calima It will be notified both ways. Email usually comes after portal updates.

There was a Tweet by UMichadmissions stating “All decisions will be released by mid-April, that is all the information we can provide at this time”.

thats ridiculous, most students will have mentally/emotionally committed somewhere by mid April.

anything today?

No. Its maddening!

Seriously the waiting is so tired

Does Umich LSA review applicants by the major they have selected?

@Heisenberg1700 Not by their intended major in LSA. It is just a survey. All LSA students choose major after freshmen year. More than half of the students graduated with a different degree than they originally intended anyway.

@FoxRulz Stop the rumor. They did not say there is a delay. They just reiterate one of their official responses and that has been on their FAQ site for years. They always play safe on Twitter and would not tell you even if the admission notice is coming out.

@billcsho I am sorry I was just passing on what the tweet says. It is what is well known on their website, but they tweeted it yesterday, on a Friday when many thought decisions would come out so I thought it was worth passing on. It is still there on the official UMich Admissions twitter account under “tweets and replies”, looks like they were replying to someone asking about decisions.

Everyone is anxious and sorry I definitely don’t want to add to this stressful time!!

nervous

Does anyone think Ross will come out this Friday? I’ve been waiting since I was accepted to LSA in early February and the wait is killing me!!!

@collegesavant1 Friday the 23rd will be 3 weeks since the last wave of LSA & Ross decisions were released on 3/2. It’s highly probable some Ross admissions will be announced this week.

Has anyone received an email about a “faculty call”? I got an email saying that I’ll be getting a phone call or email from a faculty member to discuss “the many opportunities within LSA, their department, the classes they teach, and to answer your questions.” I’ve never heard of this and I’m kind of confused

I really want to go to Michigan but it is too expensive. I got a 12k grant, but would need like 8-10k more for it to be more affordable. My EFC is 26k and my estimated cost of attendance is 50k currently. I will go to campus day this week and if I got to financial aid office, what are the chances they can increase my grant?

They won’t change any part of your FA just based on your stopping into the FA office. There’s a procedure for appealing. You have to prove special circumstances that were not knowable from your Fafsa and CSS. For example, recent job loss, family disaster (fire, flood, etc.), devastating medical costs, artificially high income on your Fafsa due to a one-time payment. That sort of thing. You have to send a letter outlining your special circumstances and ask for “professional judgment.”
