I applied the day it was due…
I applied on October 31st so I definitely won’t get mine the first day
@gradclass2022 i think so. i got in but i also know quite a few people who didn’t and got deferred
I applied on November 1st
I’m too anxious for the decision letters! I really wish we could all get in.
My twin and I applied a week apart, do you think they would view our applications together? Because the common app asked if anyone else from my family was applying this year as well
I’m nervous because my gpa and scores are slightly below the average and I’m OOS, but I go to a rigorous private school, I have very strong extracurricular involvement (leadership positions, summer job, internships), and I’m a legacy. I also think my why michigan essay conveys that if admitted I will 100% attend. What do you guys think?
I applied to Wisconsin and my stats were above avg. but I was deferred. I think it’s because I’m OOS and I didn’t seem very interested in my essays/I never even visited (oops)
@latte13 Same! Except i’m not a legacy but michigan’s my top choice and I want to go so bad.
My friend who got admitted EA last year submitted his application like 10 minutes before the deadline and got told the first day. He was in-state however, so there may be some correlation.
@latte13 Mind sharing those stats? Mine are ok ish and im pretty worried too lol
@gradclass2022, @latte13, @jagomezpr… regarding Wisconsin, I was also told that EA decisions were very selective this year. In my school (rigorous, private, northeast), four classmates with good stats and ECs were deferred. I was really worried because they found out before me ,but i was accepted into engineering with a 35 ACT, 5s on AP Calc and AP Physics exams, SAT Math 2: 760, Physics 1: 770. My overall GPA was slightly soft in comparison, but my math-science grades are all very high. My essays were good…very U-WM specific. I’m not excepting to get into Michigan.
@finnb hmmm so interesting abt Wisconsin! I’m very happy that I didn’t slack off senior year bc I’ll have this year’s straight A’s sent in, which can only help me… but I’m so curious to see how Michigan will make its EA decisions.
so are we thinking Tuesday or Wednesday? I would hate to have to wait until Friday…
The time for receiving admission notice has nothing to do with the order of application in EA. EA is not rolling at all. Don’t spread the misleading information.
This is news that no one wants to hear but high school counselor is pretty plugged in and said Wednesday at the earliest, but probably Friday. This is from U-M’s website regarding the class of 2021:
This early snapshot of U-M admissions shows that of the 55,500 applications, 10,959 were submitted by in- state students with 4,511 being offered admissions for an acceptance rate of 42.4 percent.
From among the 35,783 applications submitted by students living in states other than Michigan and the 8,758 applicants living in other countries, 10,815 were offered admission for an out-of-state acceptance rate of 24.5 percent.
This year’s total number of applications set a U-M record for the 10th consecutive year.
So there’s probably zero chance we hear before Wednesday?
im pretty positive tuesday is out of the question
I really think they have to start releasing decisions before Friday. Friday is their last day in the office and there’s no way they’re getting that many admissions out in one day.
I truly feel like decisions will come out Wednesday. Even though last year’s release date of the week was an outlier compared to previous years, it would make sense if this year followed in last year’s footsteps. Friday is certainly a possibility but to me, it feels kinda late. My money’s on Wednesday but I could be totally wrong.
