For those that have been accepted to UMich, any tips on applying?
Have a good GPA, a high SAT/ACT, and good EC’s.
Live and go to HS in Michigan. Just kidding.
Adding to above, write a good essay.
In addition to having strong academic credentials, I think demonstrating interest through your essays is a big plus.
what are good ecs? @iamjack
and thanks! @billcsho and @Alexandre
The acceptance rate for the class of 2019 is 26.2%
According to the Common Data Set for 2014-15 (Class of 2018)
The average GPA is 3.81
The middle 50% test scores are as follows
ACT: 29-33
SAT Critical Reading: 620-720
SAT Math: 660-760
SAT Writing: 640-730
Hope this helps
@Join20 There is a difference between admission stat and enrolled freshmen stat. For admission, the average GPA was 3.85. The mid 50 ACT for class of 2018 was 30-33. For class of 3015, it is 30-34.
I got my stuff from the Common Data set 2014-15
Sorry about my mistake.
For the 2019 class here is a little bit more in depth
ACT
English: 31-35
Math: 29-34
Reading: 30-34
Science: 28-34
Eng/Essay: 29-32
SAT: 2040-2280
Reading: 660-760
Math: 690-790
Writing: 670-770
You can find the latest admission stat directly on UMich’s website. Again, CDS has mixed info from admission and enrolled freshmen.
Sorry for my typo above. It is for class of 2019, not 3015 (don’t know what happened), that mid 50 ACT is 30-34. I hate to response on my tablet.
Good EC’s can involve anything from solving the California drought crisis to solving cancer.
