University of Michigan? Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry?

Hi,

So I am a prospective high school student of the University of Michigan, and I was wondering as to which major I should go into for undergraduate schooling. I am applying to LSA, which encompasses subjects relating to a science major, and are the ones that I’m considering for that are stated in the title. I am going on the Pre-Med track, with hopes of Medical School in about 4 years (after this school year ends, of course.) Which major should I start heavily considering? Which major will be more beneficial for me in the long run, as in relation to Medical School requirements? Any other suggestions or comments?

Thanks!

Do whichever major you actually enjoy. Medical schools won’t care about your major as long as you have completed the pre requisites.

You should also consider ChemE. Things change in college and you might find med school isn’t the right choice for you, an undergrad degree in ChemE is a lot more useful than the other fields. Undergrad degrees in bio/chem/biochem are useless by themselves without a graduate degree.
