My Act is extremely low, and I have retaken it multiple times and a 29 is the best I have gotten, is there any hope I can still get into UMich? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much;)

As I’m sure you probably know, the University of Michigan is a HIGHLY competitive school. Keep working on your ACT, and try to get it up to a 30 at least. If your UW GPA is a 3.97, then does that mean you got a B in high school? Yikes. Also, why didn’t you continue with Swim and Dive? Overall, your stats look okay, nothing sticks out as terribly poor or terribly good. Take it easy, the decesion is in God’s hands now. You tried your best, and let’s just hope that the admissions council is feeling generous. Best of luck! :slight_smile:

You should definitely try to improve your ACT. Did you apply EA?

For Nursing, Kineseology, - you are very qualified and will almost certainly be admitted
For LSA you are competitive and will likely be admitted since you are in-state
For CoE you are slightly below average and your chance of admittance is average (good math+english)

i applied earl and i am retaking it but thank you so much for your input:-)

thank you, so kind:)

FYI, 21% of enrolled freshmen last year at UMich received no B in high school (4.0 in uwGPA without subgrades) while they also consider course rigor to be very important. The admission average GPA for CoE is 3.9 while 3.85 for LSA. So 3.97 is not bad at all for LSA. The chance would depend on OP’s home state and intended major though. ACT 29 would be very borderline for in state applicant at LSA.

i was hoping my gpa and course rigor would make up for the low act, thank you for your input:)

also i was wondering what the terms high match/low reach etc mean, i saw that you were a senior member so I was wondering if you would be able to tell me. thank you:)

High match would means around 30-40% chance. Low reach would be below 30%. There is no standard definition though. I give match for 40-60% chance.

@ivyleague69 dude i totally agree

so based on these terms would you able to tell my chances, this is my last question thank you:)

@riyariya UMich should be a high match (low reach if for CoE) for you from Michigan.

okay thank you so much for answering all my questions, i really appreciate it:)

What were your results from EA?

^ At least wait for one more day for the answer. It is not announced yet.

does anyone know why i still haven’t heard back? all my friends have gotten emails/checked wolverine access for their decision but i have not…is there a reason why thank u:)
