Hi ragingbull54,

With your heavy workload and GPA, you’re looking pretty good. It is NOT worth it to retake the ACT – you really don’t need it for admissions. For scholarships, they’re pretty much reserved for geniuses for Ivy League rejects. And as I had said earlier, you MUST apply early.

For UMich, I wouldn’t say it’s impossible to pay for college tuition with 3rd party scholarships, but it would take MANY MANY scholarships to do that. Remember, it is $40,000/year, but nothing is ever impossible in this world.

For the Ross business school, if you’re interested, the pre-admission process(meaning you are guaranteed a spot for the business school when you enter your sophomore year in undergrad) consists of a supplemental essay in addition to the UMich regular app and is much more competitive than undergrad admissions. Last year, they admitted 19% of the students who applied to the program, meaning that the selectivity is similar to, say, Cornell U.

Other business schools that have a really good reputation is the UPenn Wharton Busn School, Virginia’s McIntire, NYU Stern, MIT Sloan, Harvard, Northwestern Kellogg, and UChicago.

I hope this helped, and I have included Ross Pre-admit chances. I was a little harsh earlier with your OOS chances so I redid them.

Chances:
Ross Pre-admit: Slight reach
OOS: Safety match (now that I know your curriculum … things change a bit)

Good luck, and remember to chance me as well!
