If anyone receives a decision today can you post ASAP please!! Thank you

I promise to post here before I call my son’s grandparents or post on Facebook. I’m checking far more frequently than my son (What? That’s normal, right?) so I’ll probably be the one to tell him.

So him first, my husband second and then here. Then my parents, then Facebook and then a trip to the Wolverine Den. (This is assuming the news is good. If it’s bad it will be tell son, tell husband, start in on bottle of wine.)

Does your son have any idea of when he will hear?

I haven’t posted before, this is my son’s account. He is at school and hasn’t heard from anyone today that has heard anything this week. Maybe they really aren’t releasing anymore decisions until April! I thought his stats were average for Michigan but it seems like it gets more competitive every year so who knows…

I’ve been posting this on the Deferred page, but last year, Michigan released decisions on Friday evenings and it would take awhile before everyone got theirs - west coast being last. This year Michigan seems to be doing it a bit differently - decisions were coming out on a weekly basis last year, this year not so much.

Son found out, after applying in Oct and being deferred in Dec, that he was accepted on April 5, 2012. It was a painful wait, but so worth it. He’s a very happy Wolverine this year! Hang in there!

I received my email last friday in the afternoon. My friend received his email last saturday so I don’t think they just send them out on fridays.
It was a painful wait for me but so worth it.

No change here… oh well. Guess we’ll wait and see if we get lucky next week! Waiting is awful. ;_;

No change.
I did, however, receive WashU. lawl.

congrats ChillyPenguin
if u get accepted into Michigan, will u choose WUSTL over Michigan?

i know its late but…

I got in! Int’l student, SAT 1 2290, SAT 2 1470/1600, 11 As Olevels. Applied on Jan 23rd so pretty shocked to hear back so quick!

and I got WLed by WUSTL. Never mind though, would’ve chosen Umich over WUSTL any day.

^JRswish - admissions wasn’t kind to me for Washu (hahah), but it’s not that bad for me. I would choose Umich anyways.

Accepted to UMichigan College of Literature, Science and the Arts! Waitlisted by WUSTL though.

No one would choose WUSTL over Michigan? Really? Gee this must be a Michigan board…

^^^^^ lolz

Better sports/school spirit, better engineering/business, equivalent academics in other subjects, better alumni network, etc.

Choosing Michigan over WUSTL isn’t that crazy.

^^^It’s only crazy to those who drink the USNWR Kool-Aid.

“equivalent academics in other subjects”

Equivalent academics in SOME subjects. Michigan is once again, like so many others schools ranked ahead of it at USNWR, the better overall university from a departmental strength perspective.

No need to bash WUSTL - its a great place. Obviously very different than Michigan - it only has 6,000 undergrads.

Bigdoglover, this is a Michigan forum. You should expect some chest bumping! Besides, nobody “bashed” WUSTL. It is not surprising that people on this forum would rather attend Michigan. That’s all that has been said. Nobody said that WUSTL was not a good university. As an undergraduate institution, WUSTL is certainly on par with Michigan.
