When do we pay the application fee?
I am applying to Michigan EA and it’s also my number 1 school and has been for a while. I’m applying as a politics major and will hopefully be admitted to Ross for my sophomore year. I’m from a small, top public school in PA. I have an ACT of 33. My weighted GPA is around a 4.8 with my unweighted around a 3.9. By the end of my senior year, I will have taken 6 AP classes.
@qv19sandersa Ross takes more students as incoming freshman, than as cross campus transfers. Is there a reason you don’t want to apply to Ross initially, when your chances of admission may be greater?
From U Mich Website:
We encourage all prospective students interested in the Michigan Ross BBA to apply for Preferred Admission out of high school, as this is out main path of admission. Our Transfer Admission process is not always for U-M students that have previously applied to the BBA program. For more on transferring to Michigan Ross please see our Transfer Admission page.
And more:
For cross campus transfer students entering the BBA program in the fall of 2018, there will be approximately 100 spaces for applicants. Admission is highly selective, but holistic in nature. The review process considers your level of academic achievement including course rigor and GPA, your depth of extracurricular involvement, and your strength of application essays. Please read our Cross Campus Transfer Application Requirements and Review Criteria for more information.
I don’t know if this is helpful or not, but my admissions representative visited my school about a week ago and told us to expect EA decisions this year on 12/23. I’m OOS (CA).
Decisions will not happen on a Sunday (12/23) or weekend. It’s always during the week on a Wednesday/Thursday/Friday from what I remember for the last 5+ years.
Check last year’s EA 2022 thread, EA decision release dates were posted by someone for last 5-10 years. No weekends from what I remember.
I found that post. I didn’t create this post, but I reposted it:
I edited to add 2017. The first decision post here on CC was at 12:03 PM 12/20/17. I think that’s PST, since I’m in CA.
Sorry, I don’t think my post was very clear. I am doing preferred admission to Ross, however I did not say it in the post because freshmen can not technically be enrolled in the school.
I submitted my application on October 27th. However, I didn’t receive confirmation email or portal email. The only email I received is an interview invitation from U Mich Engineering. Is this normal?
I haven’t received a confirmation email either! Didn’t apply for engineering, but I’ve heard a lot of people were sent interview invitations.
How long did you have to wait for the portal to be sent to you?? I just applied yesterday so I’m not expecting it yet.
I actually just applied today 10/31.
Once my teachers upload their rec letters on Naviance will Umich immediately receive them or will there be delay?
To all above there will always be a delay. Just relax. There are literally thousands upon thousands of people applying at the same time. Things tend to get processed in bulk. Don’t use the day you hit send as an indicator. If you don’t hear back in some form in like 2 weeks then reach out.
@QQQBoutique it’s normal for you so respond to the invite. They evidently have enough information to offer you the invite right??
Make sure you check your spam folder too. My daughter’s confirmation email was there.
Yes, I think they offer the invite to almost all engineering students
My confirmation email is also in the spam!
Hey guys, I’m a current u of m student and remember spending hours scrolling through these discussions! If you guys have any questions feel free to message me and I’ll do what I can to help might be a little easier than digging around for responses on here!
Yes, the exact situation happened for my son, but we applied either 29/30 (can’t remember). Since you were lucky enough to receive an interview you can back door your way into the portal because the interview invitation had your Michigan ID. Sign up for a friends account then use your Michigan ID to access the wolverine access page with your application status.
Has anyone still not received confirmation/portal email? I applied 10/30 and haven’t received anything yet.
We received confirmation 3 business days after submission, but they told us it could take up to 10 days. Hopefully tomorrow you get an email, but I wouldn’t worry if not. S19 called his assigned counselor to confirm.
