@ryuu29 When will it appear in our applicant status?
@dancegirl28 yeah U-M thanksgiving break doesn’t officially start until Wed at 5pm so admissions office should reply you soon - they’re usually pretty good at responding fast
@Ir2022 My application status shows EA qualified for some time now, so I didn’t expect to receive this e-mail yesterday :
“We are pleased to confirm that your University of Michigan freshman application is complete and will be reviewed in our Early Action program.
We will contact you if we need any additional information and appreciate your patience as we review your application. Your decision will be released by Dec. 24.” It goes on, but that’s the main idea.
I think they will send the results on Dec 21 (Friday). Who works on Dec 24, right?!?
Look in your spam email for confirmation email, ESPECIALLY for the details of your portal. Everyone from my school that applied got the info in their spams
Ok so here is what I found from past forums regarding decision dates:
2011: Dec. 16 (Friday)
2012: Dec. 14 (Friday)
2013: Dec. 20 (Friday)
2014: Dec. 19 (Friday)
2015: Dec. 18 (Friday)
2016: Dec. 21 (Wednesday)
2017: Dec. 20 (Wednesday)
This year I’m guessing decisions will be released Dec. 19 (Wednesday) but it could also be Dec. 21 if they go back to Friday.
@sphcstryy will there be an email notification to check?
@camcam2022 Looking back through this thread, it seems that there is an email sent out the day of decisions along with the portal update (looking off of someone who was admitted last year.)
Honestly I don’t have high hopes because my ACT is below average, but I can only hope that I am still admitted. University of Michigan is my top choice.
Did anyone also received disqualification for EA email today?? I am confused as I did submit all materials by the deadline on top of my knowledge…
What?
@andrea391 - when you login onto wolverine access. under application status > view credentials - what dates do you have for your “other required document materials”?
Does having a sibling at UMICH help in anyway?
@calspeed it can’t hurt you. Your grades, rigor, stats and essays get you in. This is like the icing on the cake if you have the other things to get accepted. Michigan uses it as part of the holistic review.
Is anyone else having difficulty accessing FA documents under “Financial Aid”==>“View Financial Aid Document Status”? Also, are we supposed to fill out the “My Scholarship Profile”?
ACT 30. 4 AP’s. Straight A’s. Amazing essay. Honor roll. Lots of extra cc. Top choice! GO BLUE!!
@calspeed ACT is a little bit low, good luck though
a bit low?
@calspeed not all are over 30??♀️
@calspeed , the range of average ACT scores at Michigan is 30-33, so you are at the bottom of the middle 50%. However, test scores are not as important as grades, according to the CDS. It’s a high reach for anyone who is out of state, and a reach for most.
Anyone applied to the BBA program under the Ross School of Business? I’m really worried.
I have one student at UMICH and we are from OOS. I feel my student who is applying is a perfect fit for UM. IF it’s meant to be then it will be. I feel a 30 ACT and an over 4.0 GPA is right in their wheelhouse, but most of all an essay that shows a burning desire to be at this school and be part of this wonderful community now and forever. GO BLUE!
