Starting thread for all those being considered under the Regular Decision plan at Michigan.
Deferrals???
Deferred in-state from LSA with a 3.65 gpa, 10 AP’s, and a 35 ACT. ;(
Does anyone know when the first wave of regular decisions came last year?
Deferred in-state from LSA with a 4.0 and a 32. 8 AP classes.
Does anyone actually get rejected?
Anyone know what % of students get into Ross after being accepted to LSA
So when are we gonna hear back now?
How many applications does UM get for Regular Decision vs Early Action? I would assume it is a lower amount for RD.
Roughly 40,000 of the 65,000 applications for the Class of 2022 were EA.
@sushiritto Where’d you get this information from? I’ve heard they don’t release that data.
I posted the links to where I received the info on the deferred thread. In short, the 40,000 came from the UMich admissions blog. And @SingingBusDriver provided the 8,000 EA apps accepted.
UMich should hopefully post Class of 2023 info soon.
When will decisions come out for RD??
Does anyone know if deferred people typically hear back earlier than the normal RD pool?
@sushiritto any update on UMICH posting the new stats for the Class of 2023?
@Walkerrowe15 - no, deferred folks don’t hear back any sooner than other RD applications. If you were deferred, consider yourself part of the RD group.
RD decisions come out in waves, with the first batch early February, and usually once a month with a few exceptions here and there. You can browse through the 2022 RD thread to check the dates. They continue through early May. Most rejections typically come out later in the process, in April. There’s no known correlation between being accepted earlier and your stats, at least for the first rounds.
Final class of 2023 data won’t be released until late summer, once all the RD rounds and waiting list folks are accepted or rejected and the class list is finalized. That doesn’t happen until July at the earliest. Folks will still be accepted off the wait list until then. And yes, the wait can be agonizing.
Is it true that in upcoming years Greek life will rush second semester only?
I believe so, yes.
Does anyone know if applying this late (Jan 15) would decrease my chance of admission?
My son was put on wait list for RD last week. Found out via email.
That’s correct. The Class of 2022 is the last class that rushes in the Fall. And I personally think 2nd semester rush is better for the freshman student.
