University of Michigan Class of 2023 Regular Decision

I also applied to Ross RD for preferred admission. So let’s say I get into LSA the next wave, is there even time for Ross to review my application?

Accepted Eng.
International studemt, SAT>1550, lots of AP full marks and some perfect SAT subject tests + good extracurriculars

Btw I applied late Jan

Actually there has been a fair representation of EA applicants accepted up through yesterday. I seriously doubt that U of M is disguarding an entire set of applications based on when they received them. It’s likely a constant narrowing process of EA while protecting Yield given ED fallout in anticipating the next influx of applicants in RD at U of M.

So no, any very good EA applicant who has not yet heard anything still has an equally good chance of being accepted based on all the same merits of their application. There are some very good EA candidates still who haven’t heard anything beyond their initial deferral. It’s holistic so admissions is constantly re-shuffling the deck trying to come up with the next best incoming class.

So very good is not just stats based.

Keeping the Faith

so, next wave for RD is 4/1?

Do they tell you what if any merit scholarships you got in the admission letter? Or does that come later?

Also many state schools have to prop up their best instate numbers EA IMO in addition to Yield protecting likely deferring a higher percentage of OOS EA applicants into a then better known RD pool.

The Best is yet to Come

Some have gotten in after the wave… But they were EA. Have any RD applicants gotten any news after the deadline?

@senioryearlol That is a question, which in some form or another, has been posted numerous times on this thread. Unfortunately, there are no answers. Logically, it makes sense that the longer it takes to get in to LSA, and hence the longer it takes for Ross to get and review an application, the less likely it is (fewer spots available) to get a Ross acceptance, but that is just supposition. Good luck.

The portal seems to be down for me. Can anyone confirm? I’m getting a 500 error on Wolverine Access.

@WizardApple I logged in and still listed at deferred

Apparently, decision tabs are disappearing for a few people on Reddit and here. Possible wave on Friday?

where is the decision tab?

@Hellocollege11 it would be to the right of “view credentials”, you will only have had it if you applied EA

So there is a chance more decisions will be released tmro?

I’m guessing there will be releases periodically now through months end. Mostly outliers and solid fits to specific schools and “intended” majors. I’m guessing months end will be the balance of the biggest piece to the puzzle once they know the given broader needs and fits at that time. So yes but be patient for the big whammie ( Wave ) months end. Guessing most departments want a certain core group rounded out holistically and then a icing ( Wave ) of uncertainty to create a random walk ( Wave ) to the process…

Patience through Months End and enjoy the Beach Talk…

A friend said that she got into Taubman yesterday at around 3 PM…I believe (?) she applied dual application to Taubman and LSA but has not heard back from LSA yet? Is this possible? Has anyone else heard from Taubman?

Hi, I applied to LSA regular decision, and I was curious if anyone could help with my chances of getting in. I have a 3.67 unweighted gpa, 4.75 weighted. Lots of AP, chs (college in high school) and honors courses. Lots of extracurriculars with school, sports, and other volunteering. 1440 SAT. I understand that Michigan looks at unweighted gpa and the average is a 3.84, and my unweighted is very low so I am very nervous to get my decision back.

@college6616 I am not great at these predictions, but anyone trying will want to know if you are in-state or out-of-state. That will make a material difference in the chances.

@altmusicman is in-state easier than out-of-state?
