How can we check our status online? I found the website to do so for regular majors, but for the College of Engineering, I had the impression that you can't check online.

Ugh. I have no clue sorry, I applied for the college of LSA.

They probably have the status check for every school at UMich. They would've sent you the information (to your email address) after your online application was completed.

You need to use Wolverine Access to check your status however it is basically only for figuring out if UMich has all your materials. Decisions are mailed. For Wolverine, I know that your email address is your username.

Hey I just met a guy at my CC who was accepted to Umich this spring. I noticed because he had one of those purple Nalgene-type water bottles they give out to the students that they want to join in the Honors college. (I didn't bother asking his stats but from what I gather he's just like the rest of us...unless he's got some fantastic EC's or something) The funny thing about my deferall is that they haven't asked for any midterm grades or anything like that. A lot of universities defer students because they think they might be a match but there isn't enough consistency of good grades for them to make a decision so they defer them and wait for additional grades to see if they will accept them. And in my case, my grades this semester could only help my situation but they haven't asked for them.

So has anybody heard anything from UMich lately? I emailed my reviewing counselor this week but...nothing. I'm expecting a decision this weekend but I have the feeling that it'll be Sunday and I'll be thinking, "maybe next weekend."

KMAN,

I heard almost two weeks ago, was deferred transfer also. Fortunately I was accepted. Wish you the same luck!

Anyways, I e-mailed my reviewing counsler and she didn't e-mail me back until the day they made a decision-almost a week from when I originally contacted her.

A sure fire way to see if you have been accepted would be to check your financial aid status. Awards began showing up for me when I was told a decision had been made.

Again, good luck...

Matt

I called the University of Michigan today and they said a decision has been made . Now, I just need to wait for it to arrive hahaa. Hopefully it's good news. I'm getting some of my financial stuff to show up, when before it never did...hopefully that's a good sign.

I think the FINAID info showing up on Wolverine Access is a really good sign. I'm sure you'll be happy when you open up the letter. Hopefully, I'll have the same fortune. Thanks to you all for keepin' us up-to-date with your latest info.

Thanks for the update, steven. Can we call in and ask them if we got in or not?

Check this out:

Hello (kman),

We have reviewed the transfer application. Somehow your file was missed when
final decisions went to our transfer students. If you are accepted, you will
receive an appropriate enrollment deposit deadline. I apologize for any
confusion or inconvenience this causes. We will get you a decision as soon as
possible.

Amber Long

hellbender, they dont release result over phone
i was accepted in late march, but when i phone them sometime before that the girl only told me that a decision has been made and i will recevie my PACKET soon (dunno if she is giving any hint to me at that time)

No, it's against their school policy for them to tell you on the phone.

I'm sorry...that sucks. Hopefully you'll get in, you have to keep us updated.

Steve

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been accepted into umich, college of LSA. later.

Steve

Congrats! So does that mean you're definitely attending?

Where do you live? I hope my decision is in the mail...

The deadline to apply for high school students is Feb. 1, and for transfers(for some schools) its March 1 so my guess would be they are not as hard on transfers about the may 1 deadline.

I'm still waiting to hear, I had a 3.2 GPA at EMU after my first year and applied to sports mang. in the kinesology department, do you guys think I have a shot?

I live in Seattle, but my college is in Boston.

I'm in the same situation with Columbia. They've been telling me my app is still in review for weeks now. I'm doubtful.

Congrats on Mich...I'm going there if I don't get into Columbia.

By the way, my Mich acceptance letter lists May 21 as the deposit deadline, not May 1.
