University of Michigan Deferred Applicants Class of 2022

Yes, new & prospective student business is currently not in its operational hours right now. @curveboi

@jcvshxpm
How the heck am I supposed to check status 40 times an hour now? Geesh…

It is probably due to overload. If all tens of thousands applicants are checking around the clock, it would be like a DDOS attack.

Seems kind of strange that they’re accepting RD applicants already when they haven’t even gotten through the EA ones

So can someone help with the following: 1) did everyone have a view decision button when they were deferred? 2) is it better for that to be missing now or not? 3) there seems to be 2 version of the deferral letter going around - mine just asked for 7th semester grades to make a decision. - is this the “bad” version?

would love thoughts. Thanks!

I was an EA deferred applicant. @nobody76 I sent my LOCI to my regional counselor too, and was able to find the name and contact info on the UMich website.

@hannawithnoH That is you perception error. EA has been completed. All not admitted in EA are now considered RD applicants. There are no more EA applicants.

@sebound2022 I got that same deferral letter, submitted my first term grades when they were ready, and got my decision on Friday. I’m not sure it matters which deferral letter you get.

Yeah, to all those wondering if they haven’t received reply for LOCI, it takes quite a long time occassionally. My friend got his response within 2 hours, and I got mine a week later. If your regional admissions counselor doesn’t respond after 10 days, that’s when there is an issue. Otherwise, you’re all good! Good luck to everyone

it’s been a little over a week since i emailed my admissions counselor actually, i just sent another one last night to update that my grades have been sent. not sure if i should be concerned

I sent my LOCI as I was deferred and got in with a 1400 SAT! However my Essays were to the point, and EC’s were good.

did anyone get in without sending a LOCI

Are you in state for LSA?

@UMhopeful12 No, my view decision tab still missing

I was deferred and my view decision button never went away but then was accepted this past friday

Do decisions only come on Fridays?

How much will all A’s first semester with 4 AP’s related to my major help me?

Not sure but it will definitely help I’m in that same boat. I’m literally checking this page and Wolverine access like 5 times an hour knowing that decisions won’t come out now :frowning:

I continue to believe that the wording of the reply to your LOCI email is most indicative of your application rating (See: https://admissions.umich.edu/apply/freshmen-applicants/selection-process ). If your application met the “Outstanding” or “Excellent” criteria, the reply to your LOCI most likely included “you are a very strong” or “excellent” applicant and “I will continue to advocate for you.” There seems to be a strong correlation between those replies and deferred candidates who first received acceptances. Others on CC researched this from prior years’ posts. Curious to know whether anyone who was admitted this week received a reply to your ROCI (NOT the deferral letter) that did not refer to the strength of your application and the “will continue to advocate for you” language.

My reply was simply “Thank you for your continued interest”. I haven’t seen anyone else with such a generic reply
