Michigan does not have an ED option. However, if you apply and are accepted ED to any school you have agreed to withdraw all applications. (I know there are Financial Aid exceptions). IMHO, if you choose to apply ED you should have thought about finances before signing the agreement.
@usma87 The ED policy is on the the agreements you, your parent, and your GC signed. UM has nothing to do with it. You simply need to withdraw from all college application after the ED admission unless the financial aid makes it impossible.
JUST GOT IN!!! DEFERRED ON 12/22 ACCEPTED INTO LSA OOS 31 ACT LOTS OF ECs 8APs 3.92 us/4.34 w IM SO HAPPY
@hugebig10girl CONGRATULATIONS! Did you receive an email or just check the access portal?
I received an email and also had my portal updated! @jmvc1
What should I say in my LOCI?
I got deferred with a 34 act and 3.9 GPA unweighted. I didn’t have many extracurriculars though, so that’s probably why. With the recent wave of admitted deferees though, I’m hopeful!
I think a lot of deferred students end up getting in! Definitely don’t lose hope! My daughter was deferred a few years ago in the early round, found out she got in to LSA in mid-Feb and then got into Ross in mid-April!
What does it mean if my decision tab hasn’t disappeared yet but other people from my school have?
Just FYI my daughter got her acceptance email yesterday for the school of nursing… She did RD. Stats: 30 ACT, GPA 3.9 unweighted
Don’t worry too much. I got deferred and then got in to the honors program. The reason they defer so many kids is because they just don’t have the time to read through all of the applications in time to release all of the decisions as early as they want to, so they just defer a bunch of people. This is not an indication of whether or not they will accept you.
That is not the reason for deferral. They finished the EA admission on schedule and filled over 1/3 of total admission slots. There are only around 60% admission spots left for RD. They want to wait for the RD to decide the remaining admission space.
