Hey! I'm a current college freshman, looking to transfer (auditioning next year, so beginning my new freshman year in Fall 2013). I'm at a great theatre school, but unfortunately the program just isn't working out for me.

I'm trying not to let myself, but I'm falling in love with University of Michigan's BFA in Directing. Could I get any inside insight? How many do they allow in? Of what caliber are the prospectives, usually?

I've been involved in theatre my whole life. Specifically in Directing (HS), I've AD'd 3 main stage shows, directed 1 one act (for competition), 1 short play, and submitted 2 Student Directed Scenes for competition (both received straight superiors, one was an honorable mention and invited to the State level). In college I've AD'd one main stage so far. This is my passion! Do I sound like I have a good chance?

Also, what other schools should I be looking into? What I'm lacking most here is the sense of community and family among the students, so I'm hoping to find a department with that kind of feeling :)
