do applicants get an email if they are deferred or do they just hear nothing??

In years past they were released in batches. My son received his acceptance last year at 3:05 CST yet some others at his high school received notice about 20 min earlier. Others didn’t receive notice until hours later. There didn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to who got theirs when. I know people that got acceptances, deferrals and rejections that same day.

In my son’s application status, there is a new link for View Decision. It says:
Congratulations! You have been admitted to the University of Michigan College of Engineering! Your official admission letter will be arriving shortly in the mail.
He has a 35 ACT and a 3.85 unweighted from OOS.
Yes! I just accepted into the LSA. I’m In state 32ACT 3.98 GPA
