Yes @bobchillax , I would try to schedule a visit or in some way indicate that you are still interested. Also, many other people have shared on here how they got deferred but then heard a yes as early as Jan or Feb.

I’m assuming I was deferred too, which I’m honestly quite surprised at. School does GPA with Acc and APs as 5 and i’m top 3% or so with a 4.5, 36 first try on the ACT. Have really solid recs, essays and ECs. I actually got into Yale REA 3 days ago, so thankfully this isn’t a super bad blow. But just honestly a bit surprised, last year a friend who got into Stanford and Yale was deferred by UMich, so I guess they just don’t feel some people ^^

Just received my email saying I was deferred. 33 ACT 4.2 GPA top 10% of class… hoping to hear good news later on…

Im confused…so the decisions come in batches, but everyone’s also saying that if you don’t have your decision by now, you’re deferred…someone please clarify or confirm this cause I haven’t gotten anything but…
@donewithsat no one here knows. No one can clarify as we are all just assuming things.
@Walorus I think U Mich is trying to identify students who are using Michigan as a safety for Ivies. The university wants to be valued for the great institution that it is. Were you to receive an acceptance to U Mich and Yale, would you accept U Mich? If so, you have been denied for that reason. If you prefer Yale, I suppose you will enjoy it.

If you haven’t got it by now, don’t assume you’re deferred. Don’t assume anything and get off technology and go talk a walk or something. I got my e-mail at 4:50pm
