@noleeeeee wow dude that has been a minute. I forgot but are you a transfer app??
@longEngin What do you mean markedly completed? Did you receive a message saying that your app was complete?
@happy6523 No messages saying it’s marked completed but if you call them, they will tell you.
@longEngin yeah I’m trying to transfer from my community college. I’ll have 90 credits by the end of this semester. I forget as well, are you a transfer?
For those of you who watch sports. You know when the best player on your team is injured and listed as day to day. And you know that he could come back tomorrow or a month from now. And its a tight playoff race and you need him to come back. That’s kinda how this feels.
Does Michigan usually give decisions on a rolling basis or is there like a different date for different grades? How the heck do they release the decisions?
@noleeeeee Dang we are in the same boat. I’d have 90 credits from my community college as well.
@joonyblue12 I think they do rolling. They release it first updating your Wolverine Access to have a “VIEW DECISION” link. Then a few days after they send you an email. I personally think they update your Access Thursday and Friday.
Just found out that the pharmaceutical science is different from the normal transfer pool. The applications are viewed by the College of Pharmacy, not the admission office.
I was accepted into LSA this past Saturday (March 5th) and received the email the following Sunday. I turned in my app on January 31st, and I do not know when or if it was marked complete. I am an in-state applicant. Here are my stats for comparison.
High school:
Rank - 30/300
Weight GPA - 3.957
Unweighted - 3.600
ACT - 26
AP Classes - 7 (Geography, AM Government, Chemistry, World History, Biology, Stats, and Calc)
EC - Started and ran the science club for two years
President of the Interact club for one year
Kids’ Food Basket Youth Action Board
JV Tennis for three years, captain for one
Marching and concert band for three years
Essay and letters of rec were all great
Applied EA and was deferred and later denied for fall 2016 admission (50 students applied, 6 were admitted all of which were in the top 10)
Community College:
GPA - 3.657 (UMich calculated it to be a 3.700) (Only one semester of grades)
Dean’s List fall semester
Rotaract Treasurer
Phi Theta Kappa
Shadowing doctors throughout the year
Adult hockey club team
One great letter of rec
Essays were decent (Not much revising was done)
I’m honestly surprised to be admitted after only one year at a community college. My councilors in high school and college told me that I need to do two years before I would have a chance of being admitted due to my 26 on the ACT.
Good luck and don’t give up.
@M_Koch98 Congrats!! I am glad to hear!
Is anyone else applying to the School of Information? I submitted my application a couple of days ago (Mar 6). If anyone is interested in still applying the deadline is not until April 1.
Living on Cloud 9 right now as I just found out that I was accepted into the school of engineering!
Congratulations @noleeeeee
Have you applied for fall 2017? If yes, when did you submit your application?
Thank you @Med509! Yeah I applied for fall 2017 and I submitted my application early December.
Thank you for sharing your acceptance news. If you don`t mind could you please provide us following information:
What college or University are you transferring from?
How many credits you have already completed?
Which Engineering Branch are you getting in at UM, Ann Arbor?
What extra curricular activities did you do?
How was your essays?
What else did you do extra so you got in?
Are you from Michigan?
- I am transferring from Joliet Junior College (community college outside of Chicago).
- I will have 90 credits complete at the end of this semester.
- I am transferring into Materials Science and Engineering.
- Extra curricular activities include: president and co-founder of the engineering club at my school, cross-country runner at my school, peer-tutor, private tutor, member of a sustainability club at my school, volunteer for events coordinated by the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and continuing internship experience since freshman year. I am also part of the honors club at my school and Phi Theta Kappa so I participate with research events that they hold. (I also work part-time but I wouldn't count this as an extra curricular activity.)
- I put about 20 hours of work into my essays (so essentially: until I was fully satisfied with the content).
- I submitted 3 letters of recommendation and my resume with my application (I don't remember if those were required or not.)
- I am not from Michigan - I am from Chicago, Illinois.
Thank you for sharing your information.
So happy to hear so much good news! Wishing each of you the best of luck!!!
Is the system rolling ? The waiting time is killing me. Good luck to everyone who is also waiting.
Hey guys, if I withdraw from a class (getting a W on my transcript) because I am switching programs within my school next semester and the class is no longer needed. Should I inform Admissions now or do it after I get in?
