University of Michigan Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

Admitted to LSA! ?

Admitted to LSA this morning! Saw my financial aid status change last night and was able to click into the link for the first time

Also, in case anyone is an unconventional student or transfer - there is hope! I’m 28, a military spouse and I have 4 colleges on my transcript because of all the moving around (Total GPA 3.87 after tanking my first semester of college at 18). Good luck to everyone!

Admitted to LSA!

I haven’t received a financial aid package yet though. Does anyone know how long it takes to get it after being accepted?

Accepted to CoE for mechanical engineering this morning!

I’m a current freshman transferring from a top 50 private school. I’ll have finished all of the prereqs by this summer.

Applied February 19 with app marked complete on March 4th I believe.

I’ve been checking this thread for months and haven’t posted. If the financial aid link opens on wolverine access and it just says that you have fin aid for 2019-2020, is that a good sign of an acceptance?

For those who got admitted to LSA, did you guys get an email about your acceptance? if not, how did you guys find out?

@wkdalswjd i got accepted last week! i found out through email and saw it through wolverine access too!

Hey guys, not sure if anyone has done this yet (if so, sorry!) but I made a GroupMe for those of us that have been admitted! I tried to post the link on here, but it keeps getting “flagged for moderation”. I’ll keep trying!

I kept looking on wolverine access (view decision pops up eventually under application status). I saw this morning at around 6am, then I just got the email around 3pm

Hi anyone lives in SouthQuad 8619?

I haven’t heard great things about Northwood, one being that it is pretty far away. If you choose dorms, I believe it is random

So, I believe as a tranfser student, for the most part, you can be assigned to North Quad, Stockwell or Northwood III, unless you’re applying for an MLC. North Quad and Stockwell are beautiful. I haven’t seen Northwood.

North Quad is one of the best locations. Stockwell looks like it’s right out of Hogwarts. Right next to MoJo, which has a great dining hall. It’s located on the Hill, across a short bridge from Central Campus.

South, West and East Quads are generally for freshman only, unless you’re in an MLC, an athlete or honors. Make sure you meet housing application deadlines.

@sushiritto Hi, if I’ve reserved a room at SouthQuad but haven’t contracted, does that mean I may be in South Quad?

@GoBlue2233 How did you reserve a room in any particular dorm and how did you get South Quad? But hey, the old expression is that you “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.” Meaning GRAB IT!

South Quad is very social, maybe not Markley social, but very social nonetheless. It’s not a quiet dorm, unless you seek a quiet area/room. Great dining hall, but the dining hall food everywhere will get old at some point.

Does anyone know when to expect to hear back from the School of Information?

@sushiritto Hi. It’s just when you are finishing your housing application, you can choose the room, meal plan, and fill out the contract. Currently, I’m in the step before filling the contract.

@sushiritto Thank you man

My kid entered as a freshman and I don’t remember a choice of dorms, just a choice of room types. Fortunately, we were ecstatic with what the UMich computer spit out for us. :sunglasses:

East, South, West, North are all excellent dorms. Top notch.
