@NEC2022 are you an incoming sophomore or junior transfer? And who was your admissions counselor?
@lllo1515 no prob!
stats:
4.0 college GPA unweighted
im in the honors college at texas christian university and i also run division one track and cross country for them
im involved in several research projects at tcu, i volunteer with service dogs, and i am a published author. i also ran two marathons in high school.
my high school GPA was a 3.4 something unweighted and was like a 3.8ish weighted im pretty sure? i was deferred then rejected my senior year of high school.
i took 31 hours between fall 2019 and spring 2020 all of which transfer over to umich (i spoke with la’joya orr before selecting my classes to make sure of this) and got a’s in all of my courses.
i’m a member of NHS and also made the dean’s list this past fall - i submitted my application jan 31 and umich didn’t receive my college transcripts until february 7th so if you submitted late don’t worry about it.
my specific major is exercise science - let me know if you need anything else!
@lllo1515
also i got a 30 on my ACT and im an OOS resident (i live in MA)
My son got accepted a while back, and just got an email from financial aid that he’s supposed to do something, and he needs to log into a portal of some kind (I think regular student portal - not application nor financial aid), and to see an email he should’ve received to set up the portal. He’s not finding any such email.
Any tips?
@maize123 Katrina Moseley! I would enter as a second-semester sophomore.
This wait is becoming kind of excruciating… app was marked complete on Feb. 3 so I hope I don’t need to wait several more weeks, especially because applying from OOS is anxiety inducing lol. Has anybody with Jenna Mccormick heard back lately?
I have her too… still nothing getting a bit anxious.
@transferr2020 @erik2001 Looks like she might just be releasing the decisions slowly then. That makes me feel better haha
Ugh. NO financial aid. Out of state cost of attendance 70-something. And yes, we could’ve predicted this with the whatchamacallit calculator, but just didn’t really have time to do that for each school. Just applied hoping for something.
Good luck to everyone waiting on admission…hope you get in, and get some aid to be able to afford it. If we (aka my son) get some acceptances and aid offers that we can go with, my son can decline his offer of admission, and maybe someone ultimately on the waiting list can get in.
Hello! Joining this discussion pretty late but I see a few others have not yet received a decision yet. I applied to the school of kin and I’m wondering if anyone else has. My college stats are
3.4 college gpa
57 credits (Around 50 being transferable)
EC including: Youth coordinator at my mosque, special olympics helper, and few other community things.
Also, I received an email last week where umich was requesting a progress report for my courses. Has anyone else received this email, and if so, what would you make of it? Good sign or bad? I appreciate any feedback!
I’ll post stats too since I have no idea what to expect. OOS CS major from a pretty average public school.
3.93 GPA (58 completed cr, 17.5 in prog)
1480 SAT
ECs: TA for 3 courses, winter internship that turned into an extended internship/working part time, research, high school health educator, selective AI workshop with team project, CS club including some leadership during events, archive volunteer. Part of a selective interdisciplinary honors program and on dean’s list, + won a national gold medal (.2% of entries) for a memoir in high school
Submitted 5 letters of recommendation (one should def be great, prof said I was one of his best students ever). I was satisfied with my main common app essay, but in retrospect, my “why Michigan” supplement could’ve been better so I’m mainly stressed about that at this point lol uhh
U OF M asked for my fall term grades this morning & I already Withdrew from a class this semester. Is there a chance I’ll get accepted?
Wait fall term? Wouldn’t those already get sent with your transcript?
@erik2001 Well I submitted my application and everything in November 2019 during that time my fall classes were still in progress I never sent in an updated transcript. I didn’t think it would take this long to get a decision.
I see… in that case you missed the deadline for the Winter 2020 term and therefore all of your materials got moved to Fall 2020 like us. In that case its a reasonable request to ask for your grades so you’re fine!
Hello guys.
After nearly 19 months of applying and waiting for decisions, being deferred as a senior and further waitlisted, I have finally been accepted…
Stats:
High school GPA: 3.99 weighted, ~3.8 Weighted
9 AP classes
College GPA: 3.86
Credits at my prior university: 58 (includes AP, without AP it’s 18 lol)
Prior university was a small private university in Illinois.
Extracurriculars were pretty sparse, I just had some volunteer work, actual work, and some hobbies like bonsai and history.
Counselor: Megan Taylor
Applied on 1/31/20
It is odd. I spent so long and hard trying to get in, and once I did I didn’t even feel much… Is there something wrong with me?
Congrats! I was also accepted today (3/18) and my counselor was Jenna Mccormick.
Did anyone with counselor Andrew Campbell heard back yet?
