University of Michigan Guidance Counselor Letter?

Hi I’m a senior who just applied to UMich as EA.
I mediocre numbers in terms of grades, SAT scores and activities. (I barely make the UMich average scores)
But I visited the school twice during my junior year, loved it, and wrote amazing supplements really emphasizing how much I would love to goto the school.

I heard that your guidance counselor can send the admission office a letter, or an email, saying that this student’s top choice is UMich and he or she will definitely go if they accept them.

Is this true? And if it is, would it change anything at all?

Thank you.

They can, but I’m not sure if it would help. GC’s can definitely send an email like that, or they can put that information in their GC rec. It might help, but I think they can already realize your love for the school from your supplements and by you applying early.

The primary entrance requirements for UMich admission are GPA and rigor. Scores are in second with recs and essay. http://obp.umich.edu/wp-content/uploads/pubdata/cds/cds_2015-2016_umaa.pdf
