University of Michigan off campus apartments

Hello. Does anyone have info about Landmark Apts., Zargon, or Arbor Blu? They are all well located and claim to have many amenities to justify the expense, but I have heard that management is poor and the walls so thin that noise/disruption from others is a constant problem. Has anyone found a secure building that is maintained and more on the quiet side for a student that needs a quiet environment for sleep and study?

if you’re in COE, music school, or penny stamps then Courtyards tends to be quiet

City Place Ann Arbor is my absolute favorite off-campus housing place. They have cute homey apartment units and you can get a private room and private bath, common areas with big TVs, granite countertops, and its new construction for less than $1k a month. The walls are a bit thin but that’s an issue almost everywhere. Great management and great value, in my opinion. Oh, and excellent location! They’re booked for next year but I still highly recommend it. Units are groups of 6.

The only drawback for the Courtyards is that the NCRB is closed next year. A big plus is that parking is available.

courtyards still has its own fitness center

I stayed in Arbor Blu a few times with friends and really liked it. It’s modern and up-to-date, and the common areas were always well-kept. They have a security guard on staff every night. You can’t even get into the lobby without a key (though I’m assuming this holds true for many apartments on campus). It can be a bit of a loud location during rush weeks and in the summer, but most of the time it’s pretty quiet. I can’t speak much for the management but my friends never had anything bad to say about it.

Willowtree Apartments is a a place that Ive been loving for 2 years. The walls are plaster, not dry wall, so you NEVER hear any of your neighbors, if you get an apartment in their “tower” which is what I have, you are a 2.5 minute walk from the nearest M-bus Northwood route (Mbus is very good an will get you anywhere). Water is free, parking is free and they have plenty of extra spaces, it has ammenities like fitness place and pool, and I only pay $438 for my share of a 2 bedroom apartment!
