Has anyone who applied by March 23rd heard back from LSA Honors? I still haven’t heard and the decisions were supposed to go out yesterday.

@notveryzen Midnight April 14th has come and gone…sigh I guess we will just have to keep waiting. I wish they would at least tell us when to expect a decision now.

California has four times as many residents as Michigan. It also has a very high Asian population compared to Michigan. It is also a more popular state for young impressionable students who are looking for an OOS experience.
^ all true but Michigan was no different or less wonderful when the acceptance rate was in the upper 40’s several years ago.
Acceptance rate doesn’t translate into quality. Michigan has room for 6000 new undergrads a year (all in line to receive a first quality education) and will therefore have to accept a higher % than say a smaller, similar quality private (e.g. Notre Dame, Penn, Vanderbilt).
In addition to what “wayneandgarth” said above, Michigan’s acceptance rate in plummeting. US News rankings show 32%, but that was 2014. In 2015, the acceptance rate was 26% (20% OOS). That was a 6% drop in 1 year. With over 55k applications this year, I wouldn’t be surprised if the rate dropped further…probably in the teens for OOS. Unbelievable school. Unlike most schools that have their focus areas, Michigan is world class at virtually everything…Liberal arts, Business, Engineering, Theater, Nursing, Research, Grad Schools. My daughter’s roommate chose Michigan (OOS) over UPenn. The Valedictorian of our town’s high school this year is leaning towards UofM Engineering over Harvard.
Hey did everyone receive their financial aid estimate? I either still haven’t gotten mine or didn’t receive anything at all… How do you check?
