University of Michigan Regular Decision Class of 2022

@Volunteerism Nope, I did not accept the interview invitation since it is said to have little/no impact on the admissions decision (clearly, in my case, the interview would have been unnecessary). I’ve heard that the interview is more like an information session than an actual interview. :slight_smile:
If you have opted for it, don’t worry. Two of my friends who are currently UMich students had opted for the interview and told me that it was fun, quick, and easy. They said the interviewers were chatty and super friendly, haha. All the best!

@Volunteerism
My D was in contact with her interviewer awaiting an appointment time. She received an email yesterday morning from HAIL explaining that the interview process was open until March 25th and students may receive a decision before the actual interview. It suggested cancelling if waitlisted and keeping the interview if accepted. In the afternoon she received her acceptance. I don’t think there is any connection that both emails came the same day, merely coincidental.

@happygal2017 and @PruPru25

Thanks!

They have already sent out a notice on that. The timing of HAIL interview is irrelevant to the admission process. It may even scheduled after the decision.

Thx @billcsho

Just got accepted to the College of Engineering as an out of state student. GO BLUE!

to people who got in to LSA when did you apply?

Accepted into LSA, applied 1/30/18.

Accepted in COE,
Major - Computer Engineering

Hello I studied in an Indian curriculum school and my grades are pretty good if not the best, grade 9 -9.8/10 CGPA, grade 10 - 10/10 CGPA and grade 11- 89.9 % (its freaking tough) and grade 12 predicted score given by school - 96.4%(IDK how). SAT 1440 750-M, 690-R; and ACT -32 with a superscore of 33(if it helps) Toefl -110. I have had around 350 hours of volunteer service and I guess my essay is alright, not the best but pretty good. I have done 1 internship in Robotics and CS(my intended major so I hope it helps) and a summer Program at Boston in Robotics and involved in a lot of cricket and basketball 9 through 12. Also I have Subject tests : 800 on math 2, Chem and Phy.

I live in Bahrain so sports opportunities are minute, although I was in the reserves team for Bahrain National cricket team and went to Malaysia for the ACC U-16 cricket cup and also inter-school cricket events and am active in basketball in my school although we have no proper tournaments or organization.

I wish to pursue Robotics and have made that clear in my essay and tried to show my love for it and why I am interested in it. I have strong Recs and I love going to MUNs, I have been to 13 MUNs including one inside UNHQ in New York where I won a verbal mention and have won over 5 wards. My activity essay is based on MUN conferences. I dont really aim for Scholarship, tution should be fine.

I took the ACER examination for Science and Maths(not soooo prestigious) and got 100 percentile internationally and high distinction in maths. I also was a part of a cricket tour to India under CFI( cricket federation of India).

I am part of a global community at Young Scientist’s Journal (www.ysjounal.com) and am an editor and have edited over 15 articles based on Science. I am also part of a community called Young Coders who are working on making a website.

GO BLUE!!!
Best of Luck to everyone else, one huge wave came today.

@charizard1234 Congrats! When did you apply …and did you get an email or did you check wolverine access?

My son was accepted to CoE yesterday for biomedical engineering … applied on 1/7 so turnaround time was just under 7 weeks … decision came before Hail interview … Congrats to all & best wishes to those who are still waiting!

hellooo!! applied rd in the first week of december and was just accepted! i had pretty low scores so i’m pretty sure the reason i got in was my essays.
act: 29
sat:1400
gpa uw: 3.69

My DS was accepted to LSA sometime over the night! Congrats to all who have also already been accepted, and prayers for those of you still waiting.

Stats - OOS (Columbus, OH actually!) private Catholic school, 3.93 UW GPA, 35 ACT, 1490 SAT, with 7 AP and 7 honors classes total by graduation (pretty high for his school). NMF (only one at his school). SAT subject tests of 780, 770, and 750. Eagle Scout. Theatre, concert choir, short-term foreign exchange student (visitor and host), plus others.

Congrats to all accepted thus far. Did you first learn that you were accepted via email or applicant portal? If via email did the portal also reflect admitted status?

still no news for me

dying now…

@DDii22sx Hang in there…

Portal usually updates at midnight when large batches are released. Emails usually follow later in the day.

DS applied Dec 28 or so, but there does not appear to be a correlation between application date and acceptance date.

@MedhaP I saw my mail first but I believe that they both arrive at the same time. They tell you in the mail itself that whether you are in or not unlike universities such as UMass who send mails just to tell you that your decision has arrived. So it dosent really matter, its easier to check the emails rather than opening multiple portals again and again.
I applied on 15th Jan 2018. but my scores had reached by like november.
Hope you get in.
Best of Luck.

@DDii22sx You will get what you desire. May the force be with you. The more you wait the sweeter the result.

My DS was admitted via portal sometime during the night but still hasn’t gotten his email yet. On the deferred students thread, for those who were admitted with the mass midnight releases the emails followed later in the day.

My son was notified via email while standing in line at Chick Fil A … subject line read “Congratulations … you’re in” … don’t know about the portal
