@CiteYourSources can you chance me?

I am not too familiar with Ross specifics, but I do know that it is very competitive undergrad B school. Being OOS I’d imagine your chances are very slim due to sheer amount of OOS competition with higher GPAs and perhaps more significant ECs. How rigourous was your course load during HS? Your ACT looks good so no worries there, can your parents pay full freight? If so, that can work in your favor but I won’t get your hopes up. I say you have a slim chance

@CiteYourSources well, that wasnt thr response that I was hoping for but can you chance me for UT Austin- Mccombs School of Business?

@CiteYourSources i am applying for financial aid. I will have taken 11 honors classes and 7 ap classes throughout high school.

@CiteYourSources also chance for the tepper school of business?

I would love to help you further but I’m not familiar enough with UT or Tepper in order to give you useful advice. However, there are many other posters and parents on this forum that have great expertise with these schools. Best of luck. :slight_smile:

Being OOS certainly doesn’t help your chances, so I might even recommend retaking the ACT for a 34 or 35 just as an extra bonus over the other OOS applicants. Your stats are solid already, but OOS is so competitive that you may want to try to do something else to polish your application. Anyway, I think you’re a match right now, but these things I think would put you more into the safety category.

@mbutler also i just checked my gpa and i checked the wrong transcript. That transcript had 3.7142. The right transcript shows a 3.72 and i will retake it. Does umich superscore?

no they don’t so you would have to do really well in one sitting

You unweighted GPA is below the UMich average, so hopefully you will even get admitted to Michigan, let alone Ross.

@CiteYourSources

Michigan is need blind. The ability to pay is not considered in admissions, so that is irrelevant.

@HRSMom well what other b schools do you know that will accept a 3.72 that are top 20 undergrad?

None. @Mtttho Top 20 schools may or may not think 3.72 is enough. It isn’t safe in the top 20. Neither is a 4.0 tho…

I’m not saying you won’t get into Michigan. But apply with your eyes open about your chances and plan accordingly. Does your school have Naviance? What have other kids who were accepted to Mich had?

I’m not sure working to get a 34 does much for you. A 33 is great already. Maybe discuss with your GC. And your ECs actually look good too. Did you do any subject testing? Not required but can be great addition with a very high score.

I suggest you re-figure your GPA in the Michigan way. It may be higher than your schools. They will re do it this way:
90-100 = A = 4.0
80-89 = B = 3.0 and so on. No plus or minus.

See what you get.

I got into Ross regular decision but I think if you have spectacular essays, they might overlook your gpa. I think a 33 is fine for being a pre-admit and your ec’s look really good. I’d say good-ish chances but you can always reapply after during freshman year (which I did)
