University of Michigan Ross Pre-Admits Fall 2018

i haven’t got an update or an email, does this mean i got rejected or just no decision yet? i got accepted on 12/22 i think

My twins have nearly identical stats and EC. The one who has shown more demonstrated interest in business didn’t hear anything (has an investment portfolio), and his brother who isn’t sure about business was accepted. Go figure. One never knows what the admissions officers are looking for. On Twitter it says no rejections sent out this week and there will definitely be no decisions released next Friday…

To those accepted - what date did you apply? Just wondering whether this means I didn’t get in, or I just wouldn’t be in this wave.

I was accepted today! I completed both the University application and Ross application to submit on 10/30.

For those who were accepted - is your acceptance on the wolverine access portal as well?

Just an acceptance email arrived around 5 pm and no status updates on WA portal until next week (info from Twitter). Supposedly no acceptance today simply means applications are still under review. FYI, both of my kids submitted their applications at the same time in early October and only one heard back today.

For anyone with general questions regarding the Ross process of acceptance/rejection. Whichever date you applied on has no effect on your chances of getting in, and whenever you got accepted initially also has no effect. Usually one wave of acceptances will be in February and everyone else will have to wait until March or after. From what I remember from last year’s process, only acceptances are announced in waves at first (March-April) with rejections being held until later on(Late April- onwards). I myself only heard on the 3rd wave (mid-late March) so I know how it is to wait knowing other people already got in. Congrats to those who got in and good luck for those still waiting!

Thanks @an24776. Assuming you got in, correct?

I’ve been thinking of drafting an email with some updates to my resume for my regular decision applications. I didn’t get my decision in the first February wave, so should I send an update email to Ross too?

If you’re not yet accepted to UMich, no, do not send an update to Ross. If you get accepted to UMich, Ross will get the entire package, including the update that you sent to LSA.

What are the odds theres another release tomorrow?

They said specifically that there wouldn’t be any releases last Friday and they didn’t say anything about today so there might be a chance.

@brantly I was already accepted to UMich, so I sent my updates directly to Ross  I dont really think that will hurt my application review, worst they can do is ignore my email

@bluevod Lots of people have mentioned that in previous years the next wave after February 2nd is in March, so the fact that they didnt say anything about decisions for today leads me to believe that it probably won’t be today

I got accepted in the first wave but just realized that I forgot to submit a portfolio with my Common Application…does this mean I am entirely out of the running for the Ross School of Business and will just be in the LSA program? Thanks

@prsa73 When we talk about the first wave, we’re talking about Preferred Admissions decisions. I’m assuming you meant that you got accepted in Early Action. You were supposed to submit your portfolio by Feb 1 to be considered. That being said, theyre still reviewing applications until April, so maybe you can talk to them and see if they give you a break

@Jagomezpr oh no, I applied regular decision but sent in my app relatively early (January 2nd I believe) and for some reason, they got back to me in a month on the 2/2 date. Kinda strange but yea I sent them an email so we’ll see how it goes. thanks
