University of Michigan Ross Preferred Admission

Hey I was wondering if someone could give me my chances on getting into Ross Business School preferred admission at Michigan? I’m a junior at a high caliber school that sends around 40 kids to Michigan each year.

Grades: 3.92 unweighted. 4.6 weighted. Straight A’s Junior year
ACT: 33 composite. 34 is my best on math. 34 reading. 31 science. 35 english.
Scored a 5 on AP Macro - I doubt they they look at that
Brother already goes to UMich engineering

I’m Native American and am very active within my tribe. Summer Worker for past two summers. Creating documentary film on tribal history this summer. Job shadowed chairman of tribe and participated in meetings with a development company. Went to a Pre-College Leadership Program at MSU summer of freshman year. Volunteer counselor for my tribe’s youth camp.

Member of American Indian Business Leaders and would set up a chapter at UMich if accepted
Built an informational fly fishing website to sells ads to fly shops in Michigan and promote conservation of rivers
Member of Trout Unlimited
Started a fly fishing club at school
Member of Michigan Numismatic Society since 7th grade, buy and sell rare coins online
Relay for Life Team Captain for 4 years
Captain of Cross Country Team for two years
Academic All-State Cross Country 3 years

Ross pre-admission is very competitive, but you should have no problem getting into LSA first from in state.

As a Native with your stats, you should be admitted just about anywhere. I really like the fishing ECs and especially the long term involvement! I would also apply to Wharton/Penn and MIT (though your ACT is a little low). My son has a friend with similar stats (actually, yours are better) who was admitted preferred to Ross and he had no hooks, also ones with slightly better but no athletics admitted as well, so you have a very good chance. Did you take calc yet? Good luck and go Blue!

@TooOld4School thank you very much! I am applying to wharton and MIT but Ross is my first choice (great school, die hard michigan fan, close to home, cheapest option) I have taken calc AB and am taking AP calc BC my senior year.
