Please feel free to post below when you receive a decision with what major, instrument, and how you heard!
Hi @singergirl1234 - my D’s was voice performance & music Ed. I saw the update on her portal in the morning, and around 2-3pm she received email. There’s still plenty of time though - don’t draw any conclusions about your own eventual status from this. I was reading last year’s posts about this and some people got notified mid-late March, I believe.
@choirsandstages thanks for the info and congrats to her! On what day did she audition? Do you think they notify earlier auditioners earlier?
It was Jan 22 - and yes I think it may have some bearing on the notification date, but not necessarily completely. For eg at Indiana I know they can send both rejections and acceptances very early for the ones they are certain about, and then depending on how the rest of the auditions go, they make decisions on others later. I think Michigans last audition day was yesterday so the final decisions should be made and sent out during the next few weeks. I know how frustrating the waiting is…it’s so hard!! Best of luck!!!
Any international applicants who did the recorded auditions option? When do recorded audition applicants tend to have their decisions?
I auditioned on February 5th for cello performance and music ed. Still no word. I really hope the decisions are sent out soon.
I just got an email from SMTD about applying for some “Telluride House” Scholarship. (Could the email be a sign of admission or did everyone receive this?)
I got in for Bachelor of Musical Arts in Harp Performance!! I got an email notification
@singergirl1234 I got that email too but I doubt it has anything to do with admission
@singergirl1234 I got that email too. I certainly hope it is a good sign! everyone stay posted on if you hear anything :’(
Congratulations!! When was your audition? @XxMU51CxX
My D got one too. Quite a lengthy application but seems to be a prestigious scholarship. Still, may have been sent to all, so probably not really indicative of anything.
D got the Telluride email too. Hoping for an admissions decision soon. She auditioned last week on 2/19 and they said that they are aiming to release decisions in about two weeks. Fingers are crossed, this is a dream school for my D.
I auditioned back in November and still haven’t heard anything. Probably a really bad sign, right?
Not a bad sign. I don’t know what you auditioned for, but many audition based programs wait until all applicants have auditioned before sending out any decisions. Michigan still had auditions in February.
How convenient is this Telluride House to the music building? My D just got the email today and it seems to be cutting it way too close to the deadline. Oh well.
singergirl, I don’t think it is a bad sign either. I think they told us 2 weeks since we were there on the final audition day for voice. I also think different instruments can release on different dates. Good luck!!!
i didn’t know they even had auditions in november!
So the Telluride application requires 5 essays (6 if you did some type of summer program). One essay can be up to six single spaced pages (3-6). The other four essays are 2 pages (single spaced). Two letters of rec and transcripts. All due the 29th. That’s quite a lot to get done in four days without even having an admission decision. My D is going to apply somehow. But why the late notification? Was anyone notified earlier?
I’m wondering the same, @sjftlg. I don’t think it’s gonna happen in this household. She’s at a conference right now and won’t be back til Sunday.
