So I was looking at the statistics for transfer admissions at UM and I noticed it was really high, but I was wondering if it applies to sophomores as well as juniors? I applied and got as a freshman but didn't go, and now I realize that that's where i want to be. Thanks

Transfer=junior status

That not true but thanks anyways. Here’s an article I found for anyone in the same boat:

[Michigan Could Allow More Sophomore Transfer Students - The Paper Trail (usnews.com)](http://www.usnews.com/education/blogs/paper-trail/2009/02/02/michigan-could-allow-more-sophomore-transfer-students)

thanks for the article! it was quite useful!

As for the statistics, they are an average of all transfer students, so second semester all the way up, but a majority of their transfers are juniors. the main reason for the high gpa is the number of community college students who apply for transfer, and for a very limited number of openings. this means they have to be the top of the top because EVERY CC student in michigan applies to u mich

hope this helps - im trying to transfer as well :)

Which website did you guys use to look at stats?

If you look under the transfer student thread in the UM section you will see how much harder it is to transfer as a sophomore. There were plenty of students with 3.9 and 4.0 gpa’s who were rejected. You should try to transfer after 1 year, but your chances are very slim. Then again, you were accepted in hs so…
