I am planning on attending a community college for two years and then transferring over to University of Michigan for Computer Engineering (or Western Michigan University if I don’t get accepted to U of M).
I was wondering:
If I use my AP Credit and use it at my local community college, will U of M (and colleges in general) require me to send the same AP scores to them when I apply as transfer?
Thank you for taking your time to read my question!
Your community college will give you a certain number of credits for your AP classes. UMich may or may not honor those credits. They have a different standard for what they believe AP classes are worth, or aren’t worth. When you transfer in, they will adjust the number of credits they accept. This is also true of classes you take at community college. You need to make sure…from a UMich adviser (not your community college adviser) what credit for classes will transfer for the particular department and college you want. It would be a shame to take classes that won’t transfer if UMich is your ultimate goal…so be certain. You are never required to send a college AP scores, unless you want them to be considered for credit.
