Hello Everyone!
I recently got admitted to the University of Michigan as a transfer student and was wondering if anyone had any insight regarding housing. According to the University’s website many transfer students end up at the Northwood apartments, but as an LSA student most of my classes will be around Central Campus so Northwood definitely wouldn’t be ideal. Does anyone know what the chances are of getting a housing assignment in one of the other dorms? Would finding an apartment near campus be a better idea?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
We are looking for same information (for my daughter)
If you get an apartment on your own then you can live anywhere. Getting put on central campus as a transfer I assume is hit or miss. Don’t think there are odds to give you. Maybe housing department would have a better idea for you?
Seems like they want transfer students to live in Northwood 3 apartments where my son is. It’s a bland apartment but actually a good size. He’s staying there again next year since it meets his needs but he is in engineering and everything he does including activities and work is mostly on North Campus also. https://housing.umich.edu/first-year-application-instructions/
It’s very quiet there, you’ll see deer. Decent restraunts. It’s very chill.
