So, I believe the Financial Aid for the 2020-2021 school year is significantly worse (at least for out-of-state). Is our first semester of tuition based on the rate given for school 2019-2020 year? Also, is it hard to establish residence for the purpose of tuition?

accepted this morning! go blue baby

@PerryHorn itā€™s based on the 2019-2020 school year

Congratulations to all who were accepted. Best of luck to you.

A big game this weekend too. MIchigan versus Michigan State. Go BLUE!

Congratzs to everyone who got in!
For the people who got into COE, if you donā€™t mind, can you share what your GPA was?

@GGTRIG 3.9+ ( ~70+ units including a few upper divisions)

My stats for those who are curious:

  • Accepted into CoE for CS program
  • 3.98 GPA from in-state community college
  • 3.6 high school GPA
  • 1480 SAT
  • Extracurriculars: Lots of volunteering along with some research and other work

got in , lsa!!

The Financial Aid office said that the Provostā€™s Award will be offered to eligible Fall 2019/Winter 2020 first-year/transfer students and they will be grandfathered into the Award. Those students, first-year or transfers, entering in Fall 2020 or beyond will no longer be offered the Provostā€™s Award. Also, in order to expedite the turnaround time on your financial aid package, you should send your 2019-2020 FAFSA SAR through the FAFSA website, in addition to the 2020-2021 FAFSA and 2020-2021 CSS Profile.

The representative I spoke with estimated that you should receive your package 1-2 weeks after they have received all of the necessary paperwork they have asked of you.

accept this morningļ¼

These are the stats that got me into LSA if it helps

Major: Political Science, although if admitted, extremely interested in their law, justice, and social change minor (instate)
Credits: about 50 transferable
Current College GPA: 4.0
Essays: Good I think
ECs in College: legal internship for 9 months, a current congressional internship with an esteemed congresswoman, board member of TEDxWSU and MSA. Elected student senate representative. And had a job prior to my legal internship as a barista through college. Also, a volunteer for a gubernatorial campaign as well as a current presidential candidate.

I am an OOS student so my tuition is higher. Does anyone know I would be able to get any scholarship from CoE starting 2020 Fall (I would go Winter 2020 first)

P.S. anyone know how hard is it to get provostā€™s award? And how much aid is given? (I created a new thread here: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/2163161-winter-2020-transfer-financial-aid-p1.html?new=1)

what are some ideal housing options for students taking classes in central campus?

Look up apartments in the area. Also talk to the housing department. There should be student sites for finding roommates that they can help you with. Congrats!

@Knowsstuff will do, I appreciate the suggestions
