University of michigan transfer

@nacliamsi
Im applying for Industrial Engineering as well and i havent heard back yet. If i were to guess i think they are reviewing the applications major by major and havent gotten to Industrial yet because i dont know i single one that has heard back.

My GPA is a 3.7 and i will have 61 credits by the end of this semester. I go to U of M Dearborn.

Im pretty sick of waiting, but there is not much we can do.

Accepted to LSA today.
Stats:
International (China mainland)

junior-level,100 credits, 13 upper-division electrical engineering courses

college GPA: 3.66
HS GPA: 3.8
SAT: not taken
ACT: not taken
submitted in early January

@repaidfuzz yeah i hope so.

i think you have a high chance of getting in with that gpa.

i hope that demand would be low for engineering majors, so that i can get in with 3.28 college gpa. i am in koc university in turkey. both my university and high school have high reputation in usa, i hope they will count sth.

@brigandino: I felt the exact same way after I got rejected. I thought getting a 4.0 would be good enough, but then I realized that I need more credits to make that 4.0 actually mean something.

For those who have been accepted, have you heard about financial aid yet? How soon after acceptance did you hear?

accepted last week to LSA as an econ major

-51 completed credits, 17 in progress
first year @ University of San Francisco,
2nd year (transferring from) Orange Coast Community College

college gpa 3.57

hs gpa 3.87

act 27

sat 1850

tons of extra curricular’s: sports, employment, internships

I’d have to agree that a lot of it has to do with your standing.

I think it’s more about the reason you are transferring. If it’s something like “I want to go to a better school” they don’t see that as well as “I have outgrown my current school, the program I wish to major in is not offered where I am at now”

Sailor09, you are engineering. LS&A is harder to get into as a sophomore transfer, because there are more people trying to get in. The transfer admissions info says as much. That is why you are seeing more junior admits for LS&A.

I can only find stats online that address the transfer acceptance rate for the entire university, what are they?

I still haven’t heard, and it’s driving me crazy! Last week an admissions councilor emailed me asking for current grades and a couple days later called me asking for syllabi and course descriptions of prereqs. I’m taking this as a good sign and assuming this means they are still considering me. I can’t wait any longer!

I am in the same position as you, are you applying to the CoE? I keep emailing the transfer advisor and he keeps telling me the same thing, that they are reviewing applications as quickly as possible and that i should be patient.

Accepted last week to LSA.

College GPA: 3.43 from a top 20 LAC
High school GPA: 3.98 with challenging schedule
SAT: 2260
ACT: 32
Major: Undeclared, but I expressed a deep interest in history in my essays/courses taken
Class level: entering sophomore

I’m applying to the School of Nursing. It seems like the specialized schools take much longer than LSA, which perplexes me since I safely assume that LSA receives many more applications.

@finnlet
Congrats!

Any transfers accepted choose their housing yet? On Monday I received my housing email and signed the housing contract on Tuesday. I’ll be living in Oxford. Anyone else? :)

According to an admissions representative, nursing decisions should be out by mid-April, which is really late considering all nursing transfers are required to take a spring semester class which starts at the beginning of May. It would be nice to have some time to make plans if I get in…

Thanks for the congratulations, onlyashes! :slight_smile: I hope you get into the nursing program!

anyone accepted recently?

Hopefully very soon…

Accepted today into School of Nursing!
