University of Michigan transfer

I am currently attending a community college in Illinois. I am hoping to transfer to University of Michigan. (My CC does have a transfer agreement with UMich)

My HS stats are not that great because during my freshman year of HS I had severe vision loss due to a rare retinal disease, which as a result had a negative affect on my GPA. My ACT score was also affected because my math skills were lacking due to the lack of proper equipment that would enable to see the white board during math lectures. (Among other subjects)

After starting CC I was able to invest and utilize the assistive technology I needed to be successful, and have done so thus far. My fear is that my HS academic record will hold me back. On the other hand I'm hoping U of M would consider the challenges I been forced to overcome.

Any opinions on my chances of getting into U of M with regard to my visual impairment, HS stats, ACT, and CC stats would be greatly appreciated. Any suggestions would also be greatly appreciated.

My stats

High School:
3.2 GPA uw
25 ACT Composite (32 reading, but math destroyed my average)
Principles advisory club
Swimming
Track
Cross Country

CC:
4.0 GPA
Honors Program
Phi Theta Kappa
Leadership Program

I don’t have any answer for you, but I will be watching this thread. I have a daughter with low vision that is considering U of M. I hope someone gives you some information.
