As I am a rising Senior, I have begun the process of applying to several colleges. I plan to apply to both the University of Michigan and Michigan State--specifically James Madison RC. I am interested in going into law and/or following a political career. I am now wondering which of these two colleges previously mentioned do law schools and those hiring in the political field hold in higher regard. I admit that I am a die-hard Michigan fan, but I am not going to let my fandom outrank academic prestige in my college decision. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My daughter is applying to the same programs. She’d pick Michigan if she gets in even though she really likes the James Madison RC. Have you looked at the Gerald Ford school of Public Policy at Michigan?
