In regards to the “lol”'ed statements, I’m not sure what’s so ridiculous about what I said. A majority of top kids from my high school that went to UM are absolutely killing it in college, whereas though that were in the middle/were “lucky” are struggling. Simple enough.
And, yes it’s quite common to see kids switch out of pre med cause they find something else that they want to do. I don’t think many kids realize the sacrifice that it takes to go to medical school until they do a bit of research during undergrad. Also, a lot of kids just into college saying they are “pre-med” without really having any passion for medicine. In both cases, it’s not due to bad grades that they decide to not be pre-med, but instead they find a different passion that isn’t medicine.
