Let’s keep each other updated with new information.
I was waitlisted as well. Do they tell people on a rolling type plan or all wait until “some time in June” thanks
Does anyone send an updated info. to this email address: oua.waitlist@umich.edu ? I sent an email three days ago, but haven’t got any response. I am wondering whether they have read my email.
Due to UVA being closer and very close in numbers my son gave up his spot at Ross, may one of you get it, best wishes to all.
You need send it to your regional advisor! He/She will reply once they receive your additional information.
I was told not put too much hope on UM because a low waitlisted acceptance in the past few years but I think there is no harm to get a try. At least I will be able to say ‘I did try my best!’
This year would be very different from the past years. This year they intentionally admitted less students from the EA/RD and wait till they know the enrollment number after May 1. It is likely to admit a couple hundreds from the wait list.
We sure hope you’re right, @billcsho!
@billcsho I do hope that is true! How confident are you that that is the case?
That is what they said in last October. However, the final number needed from waitlist depends on the yield rate this year. So I can only say for sure it will admit more from the waitlist this year but not the exact number.
of course, nobody knows. We eally don’t have anything to do at this stage, only sit back and relax!
My S is also on the waiting list - Kinesiology program (as long as he can spell it, I am fine. I can’t!)
Time goes by so slowly…
And it’s only May 6th lol.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the first batch is released on a Friday (but probably not this week), and then randomly after that. I wonder how many people accepted a spot on the wait list.
I believe a lot! but just ‘kept hope alive!’
My admissions counselor just emailed me back and said we won’t hear until mid to end of June hopefully not true
In previous years, when would they release the decisions? Do they release them in batches?
@Jamesesesess - Did your counselor say “until” or “by” mid/late June? The website says “by” late June, which to me would imply that admissions would be rolling out prior to that and if you’re still on the list at the end you’ll be receiving a rejection. By now they know how many spots remain unfilled, so hopefully some initial acceptances will be sent out this month.
@BSM1987 she said we will hear from the middle to end of June, not “until”, “by”, etc. I don’t know why they would wait until then when they could take care of it during May, but I also don’t know what their work schedule looks like lol. There’s probably still a lot of business to deal with the students who already accepted and are attending.
@aboukis I searched back into last year’s posts and I couldn’t find much information about the waitlist at all. Very little post-March waitlist discussion, and no one posted that they’d been taken off the waitlist, so there isn’t really any reference data at all. Since UMich is supposed to be using the waitlist quite a bit more than they have before, I think the process will be different for us anyway. It’s just a big waiting game to see how it pans out.
Just got in off the waitlist!
