I am asking in all sincerity to those of you who are on the wait list, please do not accept their offer unless you are certain that you will give up a place at your chosen college to attend Michigan if you are offered a spot. I have a friend that says he wont go to Michigan, but accepted the waitlist offer anyways because “he wants to see if he will get in.” Please do not do this…and I ask this in all sincerity.

Well, I’m 100% certain I want in and have accepted my waitlist status.

I’m only asking because I had a friend who was 100% set on northwestern, waitlisted, accepted because she was 100% she wanted to attend, but while waiting for her verdict, found that she grew to really like her second choice uni and when she was taken off the waitlist, she ultimately denied it… things happen, things change.

So I assume, yes, we are allowed to turn down waitlist offers…?
Are we?
