University of Michigan Winter 2019 Transfer Thread

@hfzz2017 Thanks! My counselor was Katrina Moseley.
@hiNovember I got my offer yesterday around 12 a.m. from her.

Can I ask your last name initial plz, if you are comfortable with that, cuz I guess they might be reviewing applications alphabetically.

@Umichwinter2019K

@Umichwinter2019K My counselor is also Katrina Moseley! May I ask when did you submitted your app?

@hiNovember My initial starts with a h so what is yours?

@hfzz2017 Mine is j. Hope this is why we are still waiting lol. Good luck!

Mine is G… But still no reply. I think it still depends on the time you submitted. Actually I submitted it very early, but due to some silly reasons(not sending college transcrips to common application), my application was completed in Oct. Feel speechless for so long extra waiting…

Is there anyone whose counselor is Kyle Manley

@hiNovember @hfzz2017 mine is h as well so I don’t think that really matters? I submitted my app on 9/30 like 6 hours before deadline which is pretty late lol.
I am an international student and have over 60 credits with 3.83 GPA. Feel free to ask me anything and good luck to everyone!

Anyone applied to kinesiology got accepted?

Have you received the decision?

@MacKid997 I applied to Kines, but have not heard anything back

@Umichwinter2019K Thank you! I am also an international student and I was wondering how do you know if or when your application was completed? I have nothing on the “other required materials” list.

@bugting Hi, mind I asking that why you decided to transfer to UMich from UIUC?
I got accepted to UMich LSA for CS and UIUC LSA for Stats&CS, and right now I really can’t tell which one is better.
Thanks a lot!

@hfzz2017 My app was marked completed on 10/5 and I had nothing under “other required materials” list as well so I think your decision will be released pretty soon!

@Umichwinter2019K Thank you! Now I feel a lot better. Is your application date on the application status page October 5th?

@hfzz2017 Yes.

I am currently a freshmen in another Michigan university and looking to transfer for fall of 2019. I’m not sure what to put in the achievements part of the application because I’ve been told to leave out anything high school related as UM AA doesn’t care for anything high school related once you’re in college. To those who got accepted, what would you say really MADE your application? What were your reasons for transferring? Did you include HS achievements/involvements? Any advice? THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

My stats right now:
GPA: pending (first semester)
HS GPA: 3.9 unweighted, 4.33 weighted.
Currently taking 16 credits with 8 AP credits and I plan on taking 12 credits (three core classes +labs) in the winter & 8 credits in the summer (also two core classes)
I made sure all of the classes I’m taking are transferable to UM AA.
SAT: 1340
EC’s: in college, PhiDE. In HS, sports, NHS, clubs.

Is there anyone who haven’t heard back?

@Chen Shang me and all the other people who applied to kinesiology.
