ughh i’m really nervous for this round :sob: i’ve been denied twice already and i’m starting to lose hope.
wishing everyone good luck on their apps though!!

Hey guys! I have also updated my term to 2023 Winter. Wish we have good luck!

Hey, do you guys know the stats for winter transfers? Does it seem relatively easier or harder to get in compared to fall?

oh I want to know that too but also is housing available for winter transfers usually?

I feel like if you have close to 60 credits it is easier to get in. Most of the stronger freshman with around 30 credits apply for the fall term, so there will be less competition against them. Although I think they do accept less applicants during the Winter.

Your chances of transferring as a junior are greater and they don’t use your high school information this way. Very tough to transfer in with less standing than that.

Since it’s getting closer to the deadline (and I need something to distract me from the impending doom :sob:) I figured I’d share my stats for y’all!

Current sophomore at MSU, in the LBC and Honors College and applying for LSA compsci/data science (i’m in-state)
college gpa: 4.0! :relaxed:
credits: 28 from college, 12 from IB exams (40 total)
went to a full IB high school, finished with a 3.74 UW gpa + my IB diploma
EC’s: two computer science related clubs (general member) + a bit of volunteering I did over the summer + first year’s honors council
essays: they’re pretty solid imo, just edited them from the last application cycle
no letters of rec, no standardized test scores
i do have two siblings that graduated from umich, i know that legacy can be part of the decision process

will update you guys when I hear results, but I assume it’ll be around late nov or early dec?
wishing everyone good luck and go blue :blue_heart:

most of the result was released in Oct last year, I have about 38 data and 26 of them was released in Oct with 22 admit, 1defer and 3 reject and the earliest admit was on Oct 4th Monday and the earliest reject was on Oct 20 Wednesday

and 12 released in Nov with 6 admit and 6 reject, the latest admit was on Nov11 Thursday and latest reject was on Nov5 Friday

from what I know, the sooner you submit the sooner you will receive the decision, and usually, they only send out admit during the first 2 weeks of Oct

yikes, does umich do rolling admission for transfer applicants? if they do i’m gonna cry :sob:

yes they do rolling

could i get a source on that? i’ve tried to google it but i haven’t seen anything conclusive

I attended the transfer student information meeting on Monday and they said its rolling

Where can you find the transfer information meeting?

Yall, I’m pretty sure admission release dates are based on your region. Does anyone have any info on what region gets an earlier or later decision? And if anyone gets in, pls include ur region, or state so we at least know what’s coming for others =)

I think its bit more based on when you submit ur application rather than region, because from what I know 2 people from the same school one of them got in early Oct the other one got in early Nov

Oh I see.
But the CDS says that it’s based on the school, but I could be wrong. Do you know when they submitted their application?

I don’t have a specific date for those two people but I have a form for general(from last year), the first column is when all files and applications are received, the second column is when the decision is made, the third is the date, and the forth is the decision, found this on a Chinese website.
